Matt Hasselbeck was just as effective throwing to the Broncos as Kyle Orton was.
Thanks to Hasselbeck’s proficiency for finding open Denver defenders, Seattle self-destructed in a 31-14 loss on Sunday, evening their record to 1-1 in a effort that saw them scoreless in the first half and down 31-7 before Hasselbeck (!!!!) tapped into his inner Denard Robinson and ran for a 20-yard touchdown that made the score less embarrassing.
Hasselbeck’s 235-yard effort was offset by three interceptions, two of which came deep in Broncos territory and broke any chance of momentum the Seahawks were able to generate. A fumble by Walter Thurmond at the Seattle 13 gave Denver easy access to the end zone, via a Orton to Eddie Royal touchdown pass.
