The Seattle Seahawks have reached a deal with running back Kregg Lumpkin. Seattle announced Friday it had agreed to terms with the backup running back, who spent the last two seasons with Tampa Bay. No details of Lumpkin's agreement were released. Lumpkin appeared in all 16 games last season for the Buccaneers, although his opportunities were limited on the ground. He finished the year with 31 carries for 105 yards rushing, but was more of a factor in the passing game, catching 41 passes for 291 yards out of the backfield. Lumpkin is a bigger back at 5-foot-11 and 228 pounds and will compete to back up Marshawn Lynch after he re-signed with the Seahawks this offseason.

Lump…Love this signing! Seahawks grab Kregg Lumpkin

Seahawks add a RB Watching the Seattle Seahawks running game last year one thing was evident: The team needed a backup running back. Last years roster was comprised of a starting running back (Marshawn Lynch) and two change of pace backs (Justin Forsett and Leon Washington). When Lynch was injured the team could not move the ball on the ground. Justin Forsett became a free agent...

Seattle Seahawks 2012 Mock Draft – Version 2.0

The Seattle Seahawks select… The Seattle Seahawks are off to quite a start in free agency. They went straight to work to address some of their team needs, acquiring some of their own free agents and adding another 3 in free agency. These moves reflected where they felt their biggest weaknesses lie and I believe they will continue to work on those needs further. By inquiring about...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers-QB Josh Freeman won’t start contract extension talks

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and QB Josh Freeman are not expected to start contract extension talks this season. Freeman’s father, Ron, handles his contractual issues and he told the Tampa Bay Times, “We haven’t had any discussions about it. I think...

Free Agency Update for 3/22

The focus so far today has been on running backs.  Michael Bush, who recently visited Seattle, is now off the market after signing a four year, $14 million deal with the Bears.  Pairing him with Marshawn Lynch would have been exciting, but nobody wants to pay a backup RB $3+ million per season.  I suppose the Seahawks could've taken the rest of the day off to pout about losing...

Buccaneers Re-Sign Ronde Barber; Best Player in Franchise History?

Photo Credit: Buccaneers.com The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Wednesday that they have agreed to terms with veteran cornerback Ronde Barber on a one-year contract. Smart signing! Things to know about the Seahawks Frank Omiyale

Omiyale is on his way This isn’t the most sexy off season roster move the Seattle Seahawks have pulled off since the start of free agency, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t important. Last Wednesday the Seahawks released Robert Gallery, some may wonder if it was to make room to bring in former Seahawks guard Steve Hutchinson (not that he needs introduction if you are reading this...

Free Agency Update for 3/23

One of the tight ends the Seahawks brought in for a visit, Jacob Tamme, is now off the market after signing a three year, $9 million contract with the Broncos.  Denver is an ideal situation for Tamme, as it reunites him with his former quarterback Peyton Manning.  The other tight end we know Seattle is considering, Visanthe Shiancoe, is still available. Since the Seahawks are...
