TEAMS: Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs
Wide receiver Ben Obomanu was placed on injured reserve by the Seattle Seahawks, who also released cornerback Danny Gorrer. Coach Pete Carroll said on Monday that Obomanu was having a wrist injury examined. With Doug Baldwin (ankle sprain) unlikely to play against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday and Braylon Edwards dealing with a flare up in his knee, the Seahawks are short on healthy wide receivers. Former University of Washington wide receiver Jermaine Kearse is a candidate to be promoted from the practice squad. The Seahawks have also been mentioned as a possible destination should the Kansas City Chiefs consider trading Dwayne Bowe before Thursday’s deadline. Gorrer has been inactive the past several weeks, and Walter Thurmond is close to being activated from the physically unable to perform list. Thurmond practiced last week for the first time since suffering a broken fibula against Cleveland last October, ending his 2011 season.

At 4-4, the Seattle Seahawks are only a .500 team halfway through the season. They have fielded a much better defense than people expected and rookie 3rd round quarterback Russell Wilson has had them in almost all of their games.
Their head coach believes they are much better than what their record indicates.

Seahawks Eyeing Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe?
Braylon Edwards, Ben Obomanu and Doug Baldwin are still to be determined. That makes for a lot of question marks at wide receiver, which means the Seahawks might be making changes to their 53-man roster.
The league trading deadline has been extended until Thursday, and it's no secret receiver Dwayne Bowe wants out of Kansas City, but he has only half a season remaining...
Seattle Seahawks: Week 9 NFL Power Rankings (#14)
Last week: 14 (-0)
Record: 4-4
No the sky is not falling with this team. They just went on the road for 2 games. Everything will be fine this week when the play the Vikings back in Seattle, where they play 5 of their final 8 games. They’ll still be right in the NFC playoff mix, but they will have to win 1 more road game. 9 wins probably won’t cut it in the NFC and that’s assuming...
Healthy Rice could mean trouble for Vikings
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. The Minnesota Vikings understand the tease with Seattle Seahawks receiver Sidney Rice very well from his first four years in the league. In the past two years, Seattle has learned quickly that Rice can be one of the NFL's best wide receivers, when healthy.
That's been the rub for Rice.
The talented, 6-foot-4 receiver has played in 16 games only once...

Yet another close one goes array
Too many times this year, the Seahawks have come up just short, we’re talking within a touchdown of a victory.
Is it any coincidence that these games all have taken place on the road?
This team has been absolutely amazing at home since moving into their new digs at CenturyLink Field, and yet, this same team just can’t seem to find a niche for...

Seahawks’ own Mr. Warren Moon,

Richard Sherman brags about shutting Calvin Johnson down
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman seemed to have no shortage of confidence all week heading into his matchup with Calvin Johnson and the Detroit Lions. Megatron is probably the most difficult receiver in the game to cover, but Sherman indicated he was up for the task when he changed his Twitter name to something that suited the occasion.
The Lions may have come out victorious...

Anybody familiar with the Detroit Lions 1 – 1 record in their last two games know that Chicago’s use of Brandon Marshall was considerable in defeating the Lions.
