The Seattle Seahawks likely aren't done making moves to their roster before the 2023 NFL Draft later this month.

They proved this was the case on Tuesday, though it came in the form of smaller move for depth, as the team announced the re-signing of receiver Cody Thompson to a new contract. The terms of the deal were not revealed.

Thompson signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo in 2019 before joining Seattle's and the Cincinnati Bengals' practice squads later in the year.

However, Thompson found a home in Seattle, as he signed with the Seahawks before the end of the 2019 season and has been with the team since.

He finally got his big break in 2021, playing in five games mostly as a special teams contributor while totaling one tackle and one fumble recovery. But a major shoulder injury he suffered in the 2022 preseason halted any momentum he had gained, as Thompson spent all of last season on injured reserve.

But it's clear the Seahawks still believe in him and the value he can bring to the franchise. Thompson will be looking to have the best season of his career later this fall.
