It's been a rough 12 months for James Carpenter. Rehab Rehab Rehab. Three words I'm sure he'd love to forget. Danny O'Neil reported this week that Carpenter is likely going to start 2012 Seahawks training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) with his slow recovery to his 2011 knee injury.

The Seahawks on paper have a TON of depth.

Breno Giacomini is starting at RT so far in offseason OTA's. Will the former 5th round Louisville product the short term answer? Heck is he the long term answer? Time will tell.

Other guys on the roster that are trying to get some looks at RT include Allen Barbre, and possibly even Paul McQuistan.

The Seahawks also signed Alex Barron this offseason. Barron was drafted by the Rams in the first round in 2005, as the 19th overall pick.

He's a 6'7'', 320-pounder who in a pinch "could"fill a role with the Seahawks offense.

We've seen him working at left guard on the no. 1 line in early off-season try-out camps, and joined the no. 2 line for a 45-minute workout with the veteran Seattle line in the first day of the offseason program.

Rookies J.R. Sweezy a converted D-tackle, and Rishaw Johnson could possibly slide over as well in a worst case scenario.

There's a ton of Guards on this team now too. With John Moffitt, Frank Omiyale and Deuce Letui.

The guy who I think could also see time at RT is Omiyale.

We said way back when that Omiyale is a backup player who adds depth to the line.

He has experience in the zone blocking scheme and spent his second year in the league (2006) under (then position coach) Tom Cable while they were both with the Atlanta Falcons.

He does bring a level of versatlity as he has played both tackle and guard at the NFL level.

Time will tell.
