There are quite a few heart touching stories around prom time from professional athletes, and that is the case once again this year. Seattle Seahawks running back Christine Michael will be taking 18-year-old high school student Taylor Kirkwood to her senior prom. Kirkwood is autistic, but her one wish for her prom was that she would be able to be escorted by Michael. “I was just like we’ll see what happens,” her mother, Stacie Holmes said.  “I know he’s busy and I wasn’t sure if he could.” Michael is one of many NFL players who have granted the wish of a prom date to kids wanting to have a memorable evening. This one is very special and proves that even professional athletes give back to the community. There will be a lot more to say after the prom is over and Kirkwood’s dream is realized, but this is something that everyone loves to see. The connection between Kirkwood and Michael was a long shot to say the very least. That being said, Kirkwood’s mother had a cousin who had attended high school with Michael at Westbrook Senior High School. After a few connections were made and a few strings pulled, the prom date was accepted and it is a go for Kirkwood and Michael. What a touching story this is and will continue to be as prom draws closer. The post Seahawks’ running back Christine Michael grants teens prom wish appeared first on Sports Glory.
