Even though it was an exhibition opener, the Seattle Seahawks looked like a team worthy of big expectations. And the San Diego Chargers? Well, they looked like the same old Chargers. Tarvaris Jackson threw two touchdown passes and Brady Quinn, also battling to be Russell Wilson's backup, threw for another score as the Seahawks beat San Diego 31-10 Thursday night in Mike McCoy's debut as Chargers coach. Wilson, who led the Seahawks to the playoffs last year as a rookie, played the first three series. He passed for 23 yards and ran for 9. Wilson had some nice scrambles, including one on second-and-7 from the 17 when he gained just 1 yard, but evaded numerous Chargers, including Dwight Freeney. Quinn threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Kearse late in the first half. Jackson threw a 42-yard scoring pass to Stephen Williams on the first play of the fourth quarter and hit Derrick Coleman on a 6-yarder in the final minutes. Jackson also completed a 41-yarder to Willia...

Tarvaris Jackson leads Seahawks to 31-10 win over Chargers

Tarvaris Jackson has started 34 regular-season games in his NFL career so you’d think an exhibition might not mean all that much. But after losing his job in Seattle last summer and barely getting on the field in the preseason then getting traded by Buffalo without ever taking a snap in any sort of game he admitted that what he did Thursday night was sort of special — exhibition...

Chargers coach makes one handed grab

During the first quarter of Thursday’s Chargers-Seahawks preseason game, San Diego head coach Mike McCoy made this slick one-handed snag of a Russell Wilson throwaway while on the sidelines. Really impressive, actually. Hopefully the Chargers’ wideouts are taking notes. Seattle Seahawks backup QB battle: Week 1 recap

T-Jack Shines in his debut Yesterday, I wrote here why the Seattle Seahawks back up quarterback battle was not quite as one-sided as many fans in the PNW seem to think. During last night’s game, it would seem that the fan-favorite, Tarvaris Jackson, was the winner, looking dominant in his time under center. However, while his first action in almost a year was impressive, let...
