Fox Sports Southwest:
IRVING People in both the Seattle and Dallas organizations have been informed that the vicious and illegal crackback block administered to Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee by Seahawks receiver Golden Tate will result in a 21,000 fine to Tate, sources say.
In reviewing the play from Sunday's 27-7 Seahawks win, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said to the media, "I'm sure they will (fine him). We saw the same thing you saw. That's certainly something we know or expect penalties and fines about."
The play occurred when Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson ran from the pocket with Lee in pursuit. Tate peeled back and launched his head into Lee, striking him near the neck and head a violation of a newly installed rule defining a person in Lee's position as "defenseless."
Somewhat stunningly, Lee the NFL's top tackler after two games -- returned to the field a few plays later after passing concussion testing.
"I feel fantastic," Lee said today. "I was back a couple plays later. I probably could have played the next play."

Golden Tate has spent most of this week hearing his name being brought up in debates about whether his block on Dallas' Sean Lee was legal or not.
It apparently was not legal as the Seattle wide receiver was hit with a hefty fine by the NFL. Tate said Thursday that he intends to appeal the fine, but that within the appeal, he wasn't going to receive clarification on what...

After not being penalized for a huge block on Dallas Cowboys Sean Lee this Sunday, Seattle’s Golden Tate believed he was not going to receive punishment for the play.
The NFL, of course, disagrees.
The NFL fined Tate $21,000 for the block, according to Tim...
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate is 5'10", 202 lbs. Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee is 6'2", 245 lbs. Leverage and the element of surprise = Golden Tate de-cleating Sean Lee.

On Sunday, Seahawks WR Golden Tate delivered a knockout blow to Cowboys LB Sean Lee on a blindside block that made all the highlight reels, and has now left Tate $21,000 poorer after being fined by the NFL.
The hit also gave us one of the more brutal photos of the football season so far:

This is yet another opportunity to call out the replacement refs as they missed a huge illegal block delivered to Sean Lee from Golden Tate, one of Seattle’s many hopeful playmakers.
This week Seattle’s entire team can take on the title ‘Beast Mode’ as they smash a Cowboys team who looked great in their opener against the Super Bowl champion New York Giants. Their success...
The Seahawks weren’t very pleasant hosts to the Cowboys this weekend. Seattle’s running game had their way with the Cowboys’ defense, rushing for 182 yards on 41 carries on their way to a 27-7 win. Golden Tate knocked the stuffing out of Dallas linebacker Sean Lee. And after the game, drunken Seattle slobs ganged up on some Cowgirls fans.
WARNING: Spicy language.
Golden Tate would rather be talked about because he's making catches or scoring touchdowns.
This week, the Seattle wide receiver has gotten plenty of attention and very little of it for the three catches he had last Sunday against Dallas. Such is the situation Tate finds himself in after laying a block that flattened Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee and drew a fine from the NFL....
In my eyes it was a good hit. In Pete Carroll's eyes it was a good hit. (By good we mean legal of course)
Pete Carroll: "Oh ya - I knew Golden Tate was fined. It was a fantastic block, in their eyes he clipped the guys facemask, in chin area"— Q Smith (@NWSBQ) September 19, 2012
Today however the NFL said Golden Tate has been fined for his block on Dallas...

IRVING, Texas --There is so much to like about Sean Lee. The third-year Dallas linebacker has impressed almost from the day he arrived at Valley Ranch from Penn State after the 2010 draft, when he was taken in the second round by the Cowboys.
Lee has come to define himself with a relentless work ethic, laid back demeanor when dealing with the media and off the field and a true...
