Playing catchup on Seattle Seahawks news here as I was out to dinner with family, who I must say I love for putting up with my "blogging fever" during NFL Free Agency.
I had to introduce myself to my kids again tonight.
Ok onto the news...
A short while ago the NFL Network reporter Steve Wyche broke the news that the Seahawks will host tight end Visanthe Shiancoe for a free agent visit in the next few days.
Now like Steve Hutchinson who is also in town (released this week by the Vikings in a cost cutting move) Shiancoe knows Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell from their time together with Minnesota.
Today we learned also that the Vikings signed ex-Seahawks Tight end John Carlson who was injured all last year to a five-year deal worth $25 million, so one would think Shiancoe won't be going back to Minnesota.
If we see Shiancoe land in Seattle he would likely back up Zach Miller, and bump Cameron Morrah and Anthony McCoy down the depth chart.
Stay tuned to NWSB folks. More news coming by the minute.

Short-term deal makes sense, if Miami doesn’t trump Hawks
As Matt Flynn visits the Seahawks today, Peter King reports that they are “serious about him,” and King suggests a short-term deal.
“I’m not talking about paying Flynn big money. That’d be dumb,” King tweeted, suggesting a three-year deal worth $20 million and guaranteeing $8 million. “Big money comes when he proves self.”
That’s great in theory, and the Seahawks...

A look into the linebackers free agency market
Last season the Seahawks drafted KJ Wright which allowed them to cut ties with the grossly underperforming Aaron Curry. Seattle also drafted Malcolm Smith last year and the 7th round draft choice is currently the other starting OLB.
