Found December 26, 2011 on Dave Krieg's Strike Beard:
The Seahawks go into Glendale on New Year's Day striving to level their record at 8-8, which would provide the team (and us Twelves) a pleasant conclusion to a hope-building season. In our franchise history, Seattle is a maddeningly inconclusive/mediocre 18-17 in regular season finales. Here's the Top 10 wins that either sent us into the offseason on a rousing high note, or in some cases rocketed us headlong into the postseason- Enjoy! 10. 12/21/97 Seahawks 38, Niners 9 The Niners came in with their playoff seeding locked in, and treated this like a glorified preseason game. Despite that, this was still a very satisfying win to close out my first season as a season ticket holder. Warren Moon wrapped up his spectacular 1997 season with four TD passes, including two to Joey Galloway. Michael Sinclair notched two sacks to bring his season total to 12, and Chris Warren closed out his Seahawks career with 99 yards (making him the all-time leading rusher in Seahawks history by a s...

Forget Lynch and think about why Jackson isn’t in the Pro Bowl

While many Seahawk fans waste time lamenting the omission (for now) of Marshawn Lynch from the pointless Pro Bowl, we’d rather rue the fact that Tarvaris Jackson is not a Pro Bowl quarterback. We don’t mean that he deserved to be and simply is not; we mean that he is not and never will be. Jackson’s failure against the 49ers last weekend sticks out more than anything from that...

MMQB: Seahawks fall just short of Niners, playoffs

Brandon Choate breaks down the week 16 matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers in his Seahawks Monday morning quarterback. Seattle lost a close one after Tarvaris Jackson was stripped of the ball at the end of the game, but Beast Mode rumbled his way into breaking 2 San Francisco streaks.

49ers vs. Seahawks Week 16 Offensive & Defensive Game Balls

After each week of the regular season and possibly during the NFL playoffs should the Seattle Seahawks be so lucky Dave B will stop by and bring you his Seahawks game balls. Balls are awarded to the Seahawks offensive MVP yet again running back Marshawn Lynch, and on defense this week DB Kam Chancellor.

Should NFL convert to 18-game sked?

His heart wishes the Seattle Seahawks had two extra weeks to vie for the postseason. The rest of Golden Tate's body knows better. If the NFL had its way, the regular season would grow from 16 to 18 games. Under such a scenario, the 2011 Seahawks (7-8) would still be in contention for a wild-card berth with three contests left to play. Instead, the playoffs are now a pipe dream...

Earl Thomas headed to Hawaii for Pro Bowl

The Pro Bowl drought for the Seattle Seahawks is over. For the first time since 2008, a Seattle player will travel to Hawaii to play in the annual NFL all-star game. With the Pro Bowl team announced this afternoon, Seattle second year pro safety Earl Thomas has been voted onto the team. Thomas was named as an alternate in his rookie season last year. Thomas is second on the Seahawks...

Carroll won’t empty bench for Arizona game

If you’re looking for guys on the end of the roster like third team quarterback Josh Portis, offensive lineman Jarriel King and safety Jeron Johnson to get more playing time this week with Seattle officially out of the playoffs, you might have to wait to see those guys again next preseason. “We don’t plan on changing,” Seattle head coach Pete Carroll said...

I’m Loving the Skittle Nike’s Marshawn Lynch Rocked Last Weekend

I’m not going to lie, Nike did it again. That’s some pretty sweet stuff right there. Marshawn Lynch has created a monster with this Skittles thing. I really hope this doesn’t start a trend of athletes popping candy on the sidelines trying to get seen. We really don’t need to see Cam Newton eating Nerds on the sidelines. Let’s just leave it with Marshawn...

5 Reasons the Seahawks Lost a heartbreaker to the 49ers

Jason Green weighs in with five reasons the Seattle Seahawks managed to find a way to come up just short vs the 49ers on Christmas Eve. A 19-17 loss to the 49ers was a tough and bitter pill to swallow. As Detroit defeated San Diego as well on Saturday all but slamming the door on the Seahawks 2011/12 playoff chances. Marshawn Lynch, Frank Gore and rookie RB Kendall Hunter all had...

Three things we learned: 49ers 19, Seahawks 17

Three things we learned The turnaround in Seattle's running game is for real. When the Bears stymied the Seahawks ground game in Week 14, you had to wonder whether Seattle's rushing success in the second-half of the season was at least partly due to circumstance. Yes, Seattle had run the ball well against Dallas and Baltimore -- two well-regarded run defenses -- but the Seahawks...
