The Detroit Lions placed safety Amari Spievey on injured reserve Saturday, ending his season, to make room for cornerback Drayton Florence on the 53-man roster. Spievey, a third-round draft pick out of Iowa in 2010, missed the last three games because of a concussion. It was his second concussion in less than a year. Florence, who underwent surgery for a broken forearm in mid-September, is expected to play in Sundays game against Green Bay.

Detroit Lions look ahead to Packers

Even at 4-5, with the odds against them, the Detroit Lions won’t quit. I’m sure the attitude of their head coach plays a big part of it, and the tenacity of one veteran is a factor as well.
