Matt Flynn vs. Russell Wilson, Round 2
For all intents and purposes, it sure does look like Tarvaris Jackson is out of what has become a two-man race for the Seahawks' starting quarterback gig, as once again he won’t suit up for the matchup against the Broncos.
Pete Carroll has said Jackson essentially represents the control element in this experiment… or in other words, he is what we thought he was.
Last week versus the Titans, both Flynn and Wilson had their moments, with Flynn turning in an efficient 11-13, 71-yard passing performance with the starters.
While Wilson mopped up in the second half to the tune of an excitement-filled 12-16, 124-yard passing performance, including a 39-yard TD pass and a 32-yard TD run.
Both quarterbacks will play the same roles as last week, with Flynn getting the first half and Wilson getting the second half. At this point, it does look like its Flynn’s job to lose, as the coaches are giving him as much game time with the first unit as ...
BEST OF MAXIM
The Seattle Seahawks under Pete Carroll have done everything but be predictable and the quarterback battle is no different. In 2010, the Seahawks not only made the playoffs at 7-9, but stunned the defending champion New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card Round. Then they drafted Alabama offensive lineman James Carpenter in the first round [...]
Braylon Edwards has always been a talented receiver and as such he’s proven himself to be an enigma so far in the NFL.
He’s made huge plays and saw his career jump off to a great start yet after leaving Cleveland he sputtered out in both New York with the Jets and in San Francisco.
Now, it looks like he’s ready to go for his and he appears to be on the verge of his long-awaited...
Am I the only one who thinks that the way that the Seahawks are handling their quarterback competition is a little bit weird? I understand their logic with regards to not playing Tavaris in the exhibitions; I don’t agree with it but I understand it. I get that the Seahawks believe they know everything they need to know about Tavaris but isn’t there a chance that he’ll be a...
Seattle Seahawks rookie quarterback Russell Wilson told Ian Furness from KJR in Seattle via SportsRadioInterviesws.com that he believes he’s moved closer to becoming the starting quarterback.
“I definitely believe I’ve moved closer,” Wilson said, via SportsRadioInterviews.com. “You take one step at a time, one day at a time, one rep at a time and you just improve...

Northwest Sports Update
I totally forgot to post this. I wrote it on Monday AM, it got lost in my notes.
A 5 dimes review of Seattle’s preseason opener against Tennessee should be positive about the Seahawks’ performance, but not too positive as there is a long way to go in Seattle, especially at quarterback.
Matt Flynn was 11-of-13 for 71 yards and a pick in a 27-17 win...
The great thing about the NFL is that there are so many positions that every year, there is almost always at least one player who has a breakout year on every team, no matter how good or bad the team is. This is one part in a 32 part segment detailing one potential breakout player for the 2012 NFL season on each NFL team. For the Seattle Seahawks, that player is quarterback Matt...
Preseason Preview: Seahawks at Broncos
(Note: Mike and I will both be indisposed for this game, me because of work and him because he forgot to pack a television and a couple miles of coax and extension cord for his camping trip. I’ve got my VCR set to record (yes, VCRs still exist), but the usual after-game notes post will be delayed until I can sit down and watch it. Until...
Seahawks win second preseason game of the year

The Seattle Seahawks made it 2-0 this preseason, with a decisive 30-10 win, but the victory didn’t come without some bumps. The defense kept the team in it until the offense got on track.
Without further ado, your week two game balls!
