Seattle Seahawks (0-0) at Carolina Panthers (0-0) I think the Seahawks are a little overrated because of how good their home field advantage is. Fortunately, as long as they’re home, they are the toughest team in the NFL to beat, but if they have to go on the road, they’re definitely beatable. Considering their home/road disparity goes back so far, I think they’re currently an above average team that looks elite at home, but show its true colors on the road. Going back to 2007, they are 15-37 on the road, getting outscored by 6.63 points per game, and 32-18 at home, outscoring opponents by 6.32 points per game. Last season, they went 3-5 on the road, including losses in St. Louis, Miami, Arizona, and Detroit, all sub-.500 teams a year ago. In the post-season, they were down 14-0 in Washington before Robert Griffin got hurt and they lost the following week in Atlanta.  At home, they outscored opponents by 18.5 points per game (30.4-11.9) last season, beating 4 eventual playoff teams,...

Richard Sherman Reflects On How It Feels When A Beloved Veteran Is Cut

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is a certified loudmouth who has gained his reputation around NFL circles — players, media, fans — thanks to on-field antics, as well as alleged off-field transgressions. What people often forget is that Sherman is also a very motivated fifth-round pick out of Stanford, who can be rather eloquent at times (Sherm refers to himself as...

Seahawks Secondary: The Link to Lombardi

Sherman and Browner (@Seahawks)   With this current secondary, the Seattle Seahawks can boast one the greatest defensive units of all time but on one condition: they must win a Lombardi trophy. Legacies matter in sports, especially football, so if Seattle, particularly their safeties and corner backs wish to enter the pantheon of NFL legend and pigskin lore, a Super Bowl ring,...

Panthers' Kenjon Barner likely inactive for Sunday

The indication that Jonathan Stewart was going to start the season the PUP list opened the door for rookie running back Kenjon Barner to steal some reps from veteran DeAngelo Williams.  Unfortunately for Barner, he may have to wait until at least Week 2.  According to Steve Reed, Barner is still out and most likely will be inactive for Week 1. RB Kenjon Barner still out. Looking...

NFC West Breakdown

Seattle Seahawks Prediction: 1st in division (13-3 overall) Strengths: The 12th man. The Seahawks are just brutal to play at home. Defense gave up just over 11 points per game last season at home. They didn’t lose a game at home either. Oh and Marshawn Lynch is a beast. Russell Wilson is a stud. And Pete Carroll just loves winning. Causes for concern: Not too many causes for concern...
