Midwest Sports Fans:
MY Seattle Seahawks did a couple of things this past weekend that I loved.
First, they cut Terrell Owens.
No crying or doing situps in the driveway this year, Seattle fans. You should all be celebrating the fact that the Seahawks have decided to not expose their team to the poison that is T.O. Choosing to keep Braylon Edwards and drop T.O. is a step in the right direction.
Second, after a stellar preseason performance, the Seahawks have decided to start rookie Russell Wilson at QB.
Wisconsin’s Russell Wilson has gone from overlooked draft prospect to beating out high-priced signee Matt Flynn as the starting QB in Seattle.
I loved the Wilson pick in the draft. Lots of people questioned the selection, but I was very excited. I figured he would be the obvious backup choice and maybe challenge for the job, but I had no idea in his first year that Wilson would step up to the plate like this.
I think Matt Flynn was necessary to signing, but if he isn’t the best man for the job, having a ...

In case you missed it, and I really hope you didn't, Russell Wilson was on fire last night against the Kansas City Chiefs last night. Numbers don't tell the whole story, but Wilson was 13 of 19 passing with 185 yards and 2 touchdowns tosses. Oh yeah, he also ran for 58 yards on 2 carries.
Wilson was drafted in the 3rd round of this year's draft, and he was and to a...
The Arizona Cardinals opened as a 2.5-point favorite against the Seahawks for their Week 1 game, but the line has switched by five points — the most of any other Week 1 line — and Seattle is now favored in the game. The Seahawks are favored by 2.5 points most sports books, and favored by 2 points at other places. The line change can be attributed to factors related to each team...
Rookie Russell Wilson was earned the Seattle Seahawks' starting quarterback job.
That was the word from coach Pete Carroll on Sunday night after he announced that the third-round pick from Wisconsin will start when the regular season begins Sept. 9 at Arizona.
Carroll said he's been extremely impressed by Wilson's performance, not only during training camp and preseason...
With his standout performance against Kansas City Friday night, rookie Russell Wilson has probably locked up the starting quarterback spot for the Seattle Seahawks.
I don’t see how he can’t be first on the depth chart now. Wilson, who started for the first time, was sensational for the visiting Seahawks, who dismantled the Chiefs early and kept pouring it on, winning 44...
Seahawks rookie quarterback, Russell Wilson, started the team's third preseason game and was impressive, going 13-of-19 for 185 yards and two touchdowns.Fantasy Spin:Wilson has made a good case for himself as the team's starting quarterback and coach Pete Carroll will have a tough decision to make. The other option, Matt Flynn, didn't play due to an elbow injury and hasn...
Rookie Russell Wilson will be the Seattle Seahawks' starting quarterback for the regular-season opener. Coach Pete Carroll made the announcement during a conference call with reporters on Sunday evening. "He's earned this job," Carroll said. "It was a legitimate competition as we said from the beginning, and with the opportunity he's taken advantage...
Rookie quarterback Russell Wilson has been given the starting job by head coach Pete Carroll. Wilson, a third round pick form the University of Wisconsin, beat out high-priced free agent Matt Flynn after a strong preseason performance.
The starting job was though to be Flynn’s after the Seahawks paid the former Green Bay Packer $10 million guaranteed money this past off-season...
Seahawks rookie QB Russell Wilson has officially been named the starter for Week 1, coach Pete Carroll said in a press conference Sunday.Fantasy Spin:Wilson is a dual-threat who could be a steal late in drafts. The third-rounder has passed for 464 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 150 and a score this preseason.
The competition is over, and the rookie has won. Pete Carroll announced tonight that Russell Wilson is the Seahawks' new starting quarterback. He'll start the final preseason game against the Raiders, although there's been no indication of how long they plan on letting him play in the game, then keep the job for the regular season opener against the Cardinals. It should...
What started as a three-man competition to be the Seahawks’ starting quarterback is down to only one, as coach Pete Carroll announced Sunday night that rookie Russell Wilson has won the job.
I’ve always been fascinated by team numbers. Numbersology as I call it. Yes I made that word up. My wife always tells me I have my own language of “Q-isms.”
The #3 is a number that we have only seen on display in Seattle a handful of times in the Seahawks short 36 year history.
Three are quarterbacks, the rest kickers and punters.
SEATTLE-After a phenomenal preseason run, the Seahawks have stepped up and named Russell Wilson as their starting quarterback for the immediate future.

The success of rookie Russell Wilson this preseason in Seattle has given the team some peace of mind at the quarterback position, and they've dealt last year's starter Tarvaris Jackson to the Bills in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick. Jackson's starting job looked to be in jeopardy this offseason when the Seahawks signed former Packers backup Matt Flynn, but it...
