Save The Date: Seahawks vs. Cardinals
The Countdown Is On – Game 1 Is In 38 Days – September 9th, 2012
1:25PM PT - University of Phoenix Stadium
Today was Russell Wilson’s day to run with ones, and try and build on the improvement he has had day after day in camp.  It will be interesting to see who starts the Seattle Seahawks pre season opener against the Titans. Small Observations Rookie linebacker Bobby Wagner sat out today with an apparent quad injury, but it doesn’t seem to be anything serious.  He should be back on the field tomorrow or Sunday.  Doug Baldwin was also out of commission today after seeming to hurt his hamstring yesterday. Phil Bates and Braylon Edwards had a good day today, Edwards has the opportunity to make things very interesting if he keeps playing like how he played today. Offense Sean McGrath, an undrafted free agent from Henderson State had his best day today, and impressed in catching drills.  He is another practice squad candidate, but with Zach Miller and Kellen Winslow locks as well as Cameron Morrah and Anthony McCoy, it will get interesting come cut time. Ricardo Lockette had a bad day today, dropping a few easy throws and struggled to locate the football.  He had difficulties during the scrimmage at the end of yesterday as well.  Not the kind of thing you want to build upon. On Jason Jones’ second day of practice, he showed what he’s going to bring to this team Defense Cornerback Ron Parker was practicing again today, after sitting out a few days. With emerging rookies Jeremy Lane and Coye Francis as well as Brandon Browner, Richard Sherman, Marcus Trufant, Walter Thurmond, Roy Lewis and Kennard Cox, Parker can’t afford to miss much time and will have limited time on the field to earn his spot on the team. On Jason Jones’ second day of practice, he showed what he’s going to bring to this team.  On countless occasions, he tore through the offensive line, disrupting the backfield and getting to the quarterbacks. Quarterback Competition Russell Wilson had the most snaps of all quarterbacks today, and was the best passer on the field for the second straight day.  He did an awesome job of staying in the pocket and wasn’t too quick to pull it down and run. Matt Flynn did a very good job of moving the offense today, more impressive when you consider today was his day with the number three offense. Tarvaris Jackson had the least amount of reps for the second straight day, and at this point in time I think it’s safe to say it’s a two man competition. What They’re Saying Wilson met with the media again Friday, after a very impressive practice. On today’s practice session: “Offense did a good job today; defense did a great job too.  It was good because we got to move the ball more than normal.  I got to play more football.” When asked if there’s anything new he does now that he’s ‘such a veteran’: “My goal is to have such a great attention to detail every time I step on the field, and also in the film room.”

Seahawks show loyalty be resigning Trufant

Today’s NFL is a business and the players are the commodity. Football fans either follow a team or they follow players. In rare occasions when the team’s savior leaves he does so with such class that even a teams most hardened fan continues to root for him, but this form of appreciation is rare. Lose too [...]

Seattle Seahawks QB Battle

The Seahawks have been searching for a new quarterback. Last year, they decided to part ways with then quarterback, Matt Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck struggled to match his best year under Seattle, which was the year of their Super Bowl run. In their search for a new QB, the Seahawks turned to Tarvaris Jackson. In my opinion, this was just a temporary replacement. In a full season with...

Seattle's 3-way QB competition filled with debate

Every day since the start of training camp, either Matt Flynn, Russell Wilson or Tarvaris Jackson have cycled to the podium in front of a Seahawks backdrop and been asked to handicap the three-way race to be the starting quarterback in Seattle. And each day one of the trio stand before the bank of microphones and say the right things about enjoying being a part of the competition...

Seattle Seahawks' Three-Way Quarterback Battle Is in NFL, Whether You've Heard of It Or Not

You can have your quarterback battle in Tennessee -- no matter who wins, Jake Locker is taking over within a short amount of time. You can have your quarterback scrap in Cleveland -- old rookie or not, Brandon Weeden is still far better than Colt McCoy. You can have your running back squabble in New England -- whoever is deemed the starter, coach Bill Belichick is still likely to...

Wagner being given shot at starting LB for Seattle

(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated.) By TIM BOOTH AP Sports Writer Outside of his daily assignment of carrying in the shoulder pads and helmets of his veteran teammates, Seattle's Bobby Wagner doesn't feel much like a rookie. He certainly isn't being treated like a rookie on the practice field or in the meeting rooms, where he is being given first shot at taking over the...

Warren Moon believes Matt Flynn will be the Seahawks’ starter

AP Photo On Friday, former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Warren Moon told NFL AM (via NFL.com) that he believes Matt Flynn will end up being the starter in Seattle this season. “All these guys have the ability to play, but I think they brought in Matt Flynn to be their quarterback,” Moon said. “I think before it’s all said and done, he’s gonna be the guy that starts day...

Seattle Seahawks 2012 Season Preview

There is no team that has turned over their roster nearly as much over the last three seasons as the Seattle Seahawks, and they have done it pretty seamlessly. After finishing 7-9 under the direction of Pete Carroll, including a division championship in 2010 and first round win over reigning Super Bowl champs the New Orleans Saints, the Seahawks finished in third place in the division...

Seahawks’ Receiving Corps Could Be A Darkhorse This Season

Northwest Sports Update A sportsbook review of the Seattle Seahawks’ camp so far may focus on the battle at quarterback, where Matt Flynn, Tarvaris Jackson and rookie Russell Wilson are reportedly all still in contention to start as they get ready for the preseason. Whichever quarterback manages to win the battle should have a potentially dangerous group of receivers to work...

Training Camp Digest (8/1): Return of the Husky

First off, some good news for you University of Washington fans: undrafted free agent wide receiver and ex-Husky Jermaine Kearse was activated off the physically unable to play list today, allowing him to participate in his first Seahawks practice.  I haven’t seen any mention of how well he did out there, but last I checked getting on to the field is a step up from standing on...
