TEAMS: Seattle Seahawks
The Countdown Is On – Game 1 Is In 38 Days – September 9th, 2012
1:25PM PT - University of Phoenix Stadium
Today was Russell Wilson’s day to run with ones, and try and build on the improvement he has had day after day in camp. It will be interesting to see who starts the Seattle Seahawks pre season opener against the Titans.
Small ObservationsRookie linebacker Bobby Wagner sat out today with an apparent quad injury, but it doesn’t seem to be anything serious. He should be back on the field tomorrow or Sunday. Doug Baldwin was also out of commission today after seeming to hurt his hamstring yesterday.
Phil Bates and Braylon Edwards had a good day today, Edwards has the opportunity to make things very interesting if he keeps playing like how he played today.
OffenseSean McGrath, an undrafted free agent from Henderson State had his best day today, and impressed in catching drills. He is another practice squad candidate, but with Zach Miller and Kellen Winslow locks as well as Cameron Morrah and Anthony McCoy, it will get interesting come cut time.
Ricardo Lockette had a bad day today, dropping a few easy throws and struggled to locate the football. He had difficulties during the scrimmage at the end of yesterday as well. Not the kind of thing you want to build upon.

On Jason Jones’ second day of practice, he showed what he’s going to bring to this team
DefenseCornerback Ron Parker was practicing again today, after sitting out a few days.
With emerging rookies Jeremy Lane and Coye Francis as well as Brandon Browner, Richard Sherman, Marcus Trufant, Walter Thurmond, Roy Lewis and Kennard Cox, Parker can’t afford to miss much time and will have limited time on the field to earn his spot on the team.
On Jason Jones’ second day of practice, he showed what he’s going to bring to this team. On countless occasions, he tore through the offensive line, disrupting the backfield and getting to the quarterbacks.
Quarterback CompetitionRussell Wilson had the most snaps of all quarterbacks today, and was the best passer on the field for the second straight day. He did an awesome job of staying in the pocket and wasn’t too quick to pull it down and run.
Matt Flynn did a very good job of moving the offense today, more impressive when you consider today was his day with the number three offense.
Tarvaris Jackson had the least amount of reps for the second straight day, and at this point in time I think it’s safe to say it’s a two man competition.
What They’re SayingWilson met with the media again Friday, after a very impressive practice.
On today’s practice session:
“Offense did a good job today; defense did a great job too. It was good because we got to move the ball more than normal. I got to play more football.”
When asked if there’s anything new he does now that he’s ‘such a veteran’:
“My goal is to have such a great attention to detail every time I step on the field, and also in the film room.”
