The Seattle Seahawks plan to release offensive lineman Stacy Andrews when the ax can swing on Thursday, according to multiple sources.
His release will facilitate an increase in cap space, he was scheduled to make slightly over $5 million, so the cap space saved will likely be at least half of that. Considering he was not going to be a starting option this was an expected cut.
Andrews started 12 games for Seattle last season when Max Unger went down with an injury. A general synopsis of his time in Seattle is an unspectacular but capable fill in given the injury. If it adds anything, he was a part of a unit that was rated amongst one of the best pass blocking lines in the league.
James Carpenter and John Moffitt are expected to start at right tackle and right guard respectively. The Seahawks are expected to pursue at least one offensive lineman to fill a starting role.
