There was certainly some doubt heading into Super Bowl XLVI regarding New England Patriots right tackle Sebastian Vollmer’s status, but he will be playing Sunday against the New York Giants. WEEI’s Christopher Price is reporting that Vollmer will play in Super Bowl XLVI.  New England’s offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia spoke with Price and stated that Vollmer will play:  He’ll play. He’ll play in this game at some point, whether we have Nate (Solder) outside or him at tackle. He’s going to be out there, and thank God we’ve got him. Vollmer has been dealing with back and foot problems dating all the way back to November, as he last appeared against the Philadelphia Eagles on November 27.  With Vollmer being out, New England has been forced to play rookie Nate Solder—and he’s been quite the workhorse for the Patriots.  Solder has played in all 16 games this season for the Patriots.
