For a full explanation of the FOX Sports Fantasy Football Conference Challenge, visit the introduction article here. Five weeks into the FOX Sports Fantasy Football Conference Challenge, and the SEC has once again captured the top spot in the league. After three weeks, the SEC was 1 in our challenge, but dropped both their games in week four to slip into a tie for superiority. Not anymore. Two wins this week puts them in solid control. Two weeks from today, teams will be permitted to trade with the other team in their conference. The goal is to create one team with the best possible lineup and one "junior-varsity" squad before the playoffs begin and we get to see which conference reigns supreme. Here are the scores from the weekend; ACC-2 119.2, Big Ten-1 77.6SEC-1 93.6, ACC-1 70.9SEC-2 84.2, Pac-12-2 65.2Pac-12-1 98.2, Big Ten-2 72.7Big-12-1 80.7, Big-12-2 31.5 Now let's get to the weekly awards; Game of the week - Nobody wins Seriously, how bad were this week's matchups? 19 points was the closest margin of victory, and that game was a 42-point blowout heading into the Sunday night game. Without Jahvid Best's outstanding performance on Monday, even that game would have been embarrassing. So nobody wins game of the week. Step it up next time, losers. MVP of the week - Adrian Peterson, Big 12 Team 1 AP could have ruptured his spine to start the second quarter and still won this award. Three TDs in the first quarter paved the way to a 30.2 point day and a blowout win over his Big-12 compadres. He ended the day with 122 yards, but the damage was done early enough that Arizona cried uncle. Hat tips go to Dwanye Bowe (128 yards, 2 TDs) and Jahvid Best (163 yards, 1 TD). MVP for life - Aaron Rodgers, Pac-12 Team 1 Rodgers had a sub-par first half, and his Packers were trailing Atlanta 14-9 at intermission. Rodgers owners could have told you what was coming next. He ended the day with 396 yards passing and 2 TDs. His 27.8 points is actually a bad day for him. The guy AVERAGES 33.2 points per game. Next year when you get in a fantasy football league, just pick him. I don't care if Arian Foster and Adrian Peterson are available. Take Rodgers. Ouch, man. Just ouch. - Big 12 Team 2 We knew the Big-12 2 would have trouble this week, but we didn't know it would be this bad. The roster is very thin in the Big 12, so when three players were on bye weeks, there was literally nobody left to start in their place. In fact, Rock Cartwright was the only player on the bench to score at all (3.5 points). See, there was no hope. If not for Wes Welker's 12.4 point day, it would have been uglier. We'll take a look at all the rosters late this week, make the adjustments, and send the boys out to play again.
