This game was the best argument yet against four preseason games. Should've been a controlled scrimmage. Actually, it was a controlled scrimmage. Ravens coach John Harbaugh was taking no chances with regulars and used the game for its truest purpose -- settling the roster.
Among the winners in a sleep-inducing, 20-3 victory over the Falcons::
Wide-out Demetrius Williams had four catches for 77 yards. He had three catches on an opening touchdown drive and had a nice 39-yard play in the second half to get the Ravens out of a hole.
Kicker Steve Hauschka didn't attempt a field goal until the fourth quarter, and then long snapper Matt Katula skipped the ball back to Sam Koch. Koch got the ball up and Hauschka was as smooth as Matt Stover kicking through for a 33-yard field goal. He added a 46-yard kick in the final two minutes. At least for now, the job is Hauschka's.
