Secondary Concern now a Focal Point – Bodden to IR

First, it was the Mankins holdout and Kaczur going through back surgery to deplete the O-line. Then it was losing Ty Warren for the season to hip surgery that takes a big piece from the D-line. Now here comes another big blow to the secondary. Cornerback Leigh Bodden was placed on injured reserve today during roster cuts, finishing his 2010-11 season before it started. Bodden had been battling through a knee injury through much of camp, yet did suit up and play against the Rams last week, even registering a tackle. Things appeared to be situation normal until today’s bombshell. Ok, now that you’ve taken a moment to absorb yet another blow to the roster, what do the Patriots do in the secondary? Darius Butler is has locked up one spot and it looks to be rookie Devin McCourty on the opposite corner.
