The Cardinals are one of the oldest teams in the National Football League and feature a colorful history. They played in Chicago from 1920-'59, in the shadow of George Halas' successful Bears teams. The franchise moved to St. Louis from 1960-'87, where the baseball Cardinals dominate the sports scene. The team relocated to Phoenix in 1988 and were renamed the Arizona Cardinals in 1994. The long-suffering Cardinals were the surprise of the NFL last season. They won the NFC West with a 9-7 record and advanced to Super Bowl XLIII before losing, 27-23, to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
