Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan told The Washington Post that he expects safety Brandon Meriweather to be ready for training camp. “I think Brandon will be fine once we get to camp. … He did a good job in his drill work,” Shanahan said following Thursday’s offseason practice at Redskins Park. “The one thing you don’t want to do when somebody hurts his knee is get him going too quickly — just let it heal and strengthen the muscles around the knee. Right now he looks pretty good.” Meriweather isn’t as certain as Shanahan. Any doubt? I don’t know, to be completely honest,” he said after spending Thursday’s organized team activity working on rehabilitation drills. “I never really had a torn ACL so I don’t know what the timetable is like. If you ask me, I’ll tell you I can go today. If you ask me if there’s any doubt, I’ll say no. But if you ask the doctor and the trainer, they may say yes. So to be honest, I really don’t know.” If Meriweather can stay healthy in 2013, he can be an impact player for the Redskins. Need NFL Tickets?
