Shane Lechler will be heading back home. Lechler, 36, went to college at Texas A&M University. After being drafted by the Raiders 13 years ago in 2000, Lechler will be heading back to his home state of Texas. The seven-time Pro Bowler is the all-time NFL leader in gross punting average at 45.7 yards. Lechler has a sub-par season, or at least for him. The numbers he put up last year would be solid for any other punter than Lechler. Lechler can be considered the best punter of his generation if you look at his numbers. Lechler's 47.5-yard career punting average is the second-highest in NFL history, trailing only Jacksonville's Bryan Anger, who only has played one season. Lechler agreed to a three-year, $5.5 million dollar deal which includes a $1 million signing bonus.
