Shannon Sharpe has amusing response to question about Skip Bayless

Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe has a bit of an estranged relationship with his “Undisputed” co-host Skip Bayless.

Not afraid to take jabs at one another, Sharpe offered a comical response to Bayless’ athletic ability when asked by Travis Kelce on the “New Heights” podcast if his 71-year-old co-host could gain one yard in the NFL.

“No,” Sharpe exclaimed. “And let me tell you, I’m not saying it because he’s average, ain’t no way they’re going to let him get a yard. Ain’t no way. They’re going to go out of their way, and I’m not so sure the offensive line is going to block for him to get that yards. That’s what’s going to happen with that one.”

Sharpe’s response is likely right on the nose.

One of the more outspoken sports media figures in the industry, Bayless has a knack for rubbing people the wrong way, particularly the athletes he and Sharpe discuss on their show, many of whom he criticizes on a regular basis.

Bayless and Sharpe have had a rocky relationship over the last few months, dating back to the insensitivity Bayless showed following Damar Hamlin’s injury in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills. Following Bayless’ tweet, Sharpe did not show up to host the next episode of "Undisputed."

Sharpe admitted in February that he and Bayless are not friends outside of their show, stating they have a fine working relationship but nothing beyond that.
