Usually when an aging NFL player wins a Superbowl, the retirement talks begin to heat up. New Orleans Saints safety Darren Sharper is not accepting retirement just yet. Being 35 and having 14 years in the NFL as a defensive player, athleticism and strength may be declining by now. Especially since a knee injury last year that forced him to miss half the 2010 season.
Darren Sharper has played for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints. Now being a free agent, Sharper has no intention to stop playing. Sharper is not just "limiting" his option to only the Saints. He told the New Orleans Times-Picayune, "I want to keep playing football. There are a lot of teams out there that have a chance to win a championship, and that's my main goal, to be able to play, and play well, and have a chance to vie for another championship."
