Shawn Merriman Vindicated

That whooshing sound you hear is a collective sign of relief from the Chargers' front office.Still, you would think that Merriman has enough drama in his daily routine to avoid drama queens like Tequila, who are more famous for being famous than for substantive accomplishments. You would think that after all these years athletes with inclinations like Merriman's would have learned from experiences like Merriman's. But they don't, and with the omnipresence of the media, we're going to hear more stories along the lines of this one as the seasons go on. Is the NFL so boring otherwise that we've come to think of less flashy players such as Dwight Freeney and Peyton Manning as nerds?
