Purple Jesus Diaries:
Soak it in, ladies and gents. That right there is a behind the scenes photo of Minnesota Vikings punter, Chris Kluwe, shooting a commercial for Wrangler. Brett Favre is behind the camera, nodding approvingly, gingerly tossing a football from hand to hand, waiting for Kluwe's shoot to finish so they can just go and sling the old pig skin around with a couple of bros from the block, jumping in the mud, and having a good time. Just classic Bre....
Oh, wait. No. Nope. This is actually a picture that Kluwe has attached to an interview he did for OUT Magazine, highlighting his recent comments that have sprouted up all over the internet in support of gay marriage, against the gay marriage amendment, and largely just calling a **** monster a **** monster when he sees one. Straight shooting, I like it.
Kluwe continues to be outspoken on this issue (and many others, like the replacement refs, and Kick for a Cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, etc.), but also continues to have a sense of humor about himself. We first saw this photo thanks to @AndrewReiner, member of Tripping Icarus, the band Kluwe is a member of, and they shared this funny exchange about the photo:
Kluwe's probably right, in his sarcastic way. I'm sure some teammates will give him **** about this photo, but what ... Is it any worse than Tom Brady holding a goat? No way. And Kluwe's photo is attached with a much bigger issue. I think Brady was just in GQ. But, whatever. He still looked sexy a hell.
Either way, read the OUT article and continue to support Kluwe. He's a good guy, and frankly, he does some solid punt work.
And YES, I did add this photo to the Shirtless Vikings collection. YOU'RE WELCOME.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe has found some opposition from another NFL player in his continuing support of gay marriage rights.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. The Minnesota Vikings had done their due diligence prior to the 2011 NFL draft, fully researching several quarterbacks in the hope of landing the one true franchise quarterback that could lead the team for the next several years.Minnesota met with Cam Newton, who went No. 1 overall and won the rookie of the year award last year. The Vikings also met with Jake...
Percy Harvin's versatility, athleticism and toughness have made defending him difficult for Minnesota's opponents.
Figuring out the most effective way to use - and protect - him has been a challenge for the Vikings, too. The experiment was so uneven last year - while the team finished 3-13 - that Harvin demanded better from the coaching staff, seeking clarity on his role...
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. The Minnesota Vikings went on the road last week and won a game against the Detroit Lions, ending their NFC North losing streak without scoring an offensive touchdown.Improved special teams units, exemplified last week with two return touchdowns and five touchbacks, have played a big role in Minnesota's surprising 3-1 start. QB Joe Webb’s Vikings career has run the gamut, but he remains committed to dutifully serving his role as the backup. He talked about how he helps Christian Ponder, the past as a receiver and where that Blazer package has been.
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier had a message for his team: The first quarter of the season was nice, but NFL teams don’t celebrate championships in September.
Jared Allen only has two sacks and Brian Robison hasn’t gotten on the board yet. Still, the Vikings are pressuring the quarterback and others are getting sacks. How is it all coming together? The players and Leslie Frazier discuss.
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Two seasons ago, a meeting between Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson, two of the NFL's premier running backs, would have been a highlight on the NFL's weekly schedule.
Sunday's game, with Johnson's Tennessee Titans visiting Peterson's Minnesota Vikings, would have been billed as a matchup involving perhaps the game's biggest breakaway...
