I'm blown away by the news of Curtis Painter's getting the axe from the Ravens...I seriously thought Painter had outplayed backup QB Tyrod Taylor over the course of the preseason...Curtis Painter has left the building...despite what I saw as a superior pocket presence and a supremely more accurate arm compared to Tyrod Taylor...These cuts never cease to amaze me.Former Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Curtis Painter headlined the list of 16 players waived by the Baltimore Ravens on Friday as the team trimmed its roster down to the mandatory 53-man limit. Also waived by Baltimore was running back Anthony Allen, a seventh-round pick by the team in last year's draft, who lost out in a battle with 2012 third- rounder Bernard Pierce, and undrafted rookie Bobby Rainey, to be the primary backups to All-Pro Ray Rice.
