If there’s one thing the Miami Dolphins are known for in their storied history it’s their undefeated season in 1972, just two years after joining the NFL via the AFL merger. And, most of us can remember the legendary Don Shula manning the sidelines of the Orange Bowl (R.I.P.) and then Joe Robbie Stadium (now dubbed Sun Life Stadium). The perfect season is a part of history and it’s the type of record that stays a part of history. Shula’s gone, and a very large portion of the ever-expanding NFL fan base likely can’t recall the Fish Captain without at least taking a second to think about it. What’s interesting about the Dolphins is their fan base is always there. Always.
