Danny O’Neil of ESPN 710 Seattle breaks down the Seahawk’s wide receiver position as they prepare for training camp. The most interesting note from O’Neil’s article is regarding how Percy Harvin‘s contract could affect Sidney Rice‘s status with the team come next season. Seattle sent three draft picks to the Vikings in return for Harvin and then locked him up to a six-year deal worth $67 million and includes $25.5 million guaranteed. He will count $4.9 million against the Seahawks’ salary cap this year, but that number jumps to $13 million in 2014. O’Neil mentions that this could “squeeze Rice out of his current deal barring a huge season.” Rice, 26, signed a five-year deal worth $41 million with the team back in 2011 so he still has another three years remaining on his contract. He’ll make $8.5 million for the next two years and $9 million come 2015. Last season, he managed to play in all 16 regular season games for the Seahawks and tallied 50 receptions for 748 yards and seven touchdowns. Rice offers plenty of size at the receiver position, so another solid season could force Seattle to consider reworking his contract instead of possibly parting ways. Golden Tate is entering the final year of his rookie and while he is coming off of a much improved season, so there are some questions as to whether or not the Seahawks will look to retain him beyond this year. Seattle is setup to make a serious run at title this season, but there will be some interesting roster decisions made regarding the receiver position come next March.       The post Sidney Rice Possibly Entering His Final Season With The Seahawks? appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.
