Sit em, Start Em – Week Two

Start Em

Alfred Morris – Alfred Morris should run all over the Rams run defense in week two. I expect the Redskins to be protecting a lead in this one and feeding Morris consistently in the second half. The Rams just aren’t good enough to compete and will regret not giving up on Bradford for RGIII if they don’t already. Morris is in line for 25 carries, 100 yards and at least one touchdown.

Adrian Peterson – After doubting the workload he would receive in week one and suggesting to sit him, Purple Jesus went off and reminded us all of the age old adage “don’t sit your studs”. Against the Colts run D, AP should go off All Day, especially if Freeney misses this one.

Stephen Hill – Yes, we are believers in Starscream and think he should be in lineups with three plus flex options. Hill has considerable upside and Sanchez will continue to throw to his monster receiver sitting in single coverage rather than his veteran across the field in double coverage…sorry Santonio Holmes owners. Hill has the talent to save Mark Sanchez’ job, and he will.

Kenny Britt – Britt simply has too much talent to sit. He may only play 15-20 snaps but they will all likely be passing downs and at 6’4 will instantly become Jake Locker’s favourite target. Britt has a history of exploding in his first game back from injury and is a more than serviceable WR3 or flex option.

Kyle Rudolph – I like Rudolph more and more every week. Facing the Colts in week two Rudolph looks to have six reception, eighty yards and a score upside…frankly, that looks like his upside every week. This may be the week Rudolph breaks out and cements himself as a top-ten talent at his position

Alex Smith – This will likely be one of the only times I suggest starting Smith as a spot play. The 49ers go up against the Lions this week and when two teams have the type of offensive firepower these two have a shoot-out is always possible. Smith should threaten 300 yards and two scores on the game.

Sit Em

Joe Flacco – Despite his brilliant showing in week one Flacco is destined to find life a lot harder against the Eagles formidable secondary. This is a game where the Ravens will likely lean heavily on the run, thereby mitigating Flacco’s upside. If you drafted Flacco as a QB1 you definitely have a serviceable backup, plug and play.

Michael Turner – Turner might actually get some burn against the Broncos in what promises to be a physical matchup but with weapons like Jones, Gonzalez and White out there to steal red-zone looks Turner’s upside is severely capped. Turner could still find the end zone but hopefully you have more attractive options this week. We do not suggest deploying Turner outside of 14-team+ leagues where you might not have a choice.

Shonn Greene – Greene may become a fixture on this list before long but against the Steelers we recommend sitting him at all costs. Yes, there is always the possibility we are wrong on a call, but sitting Greene against a tough run D like the Steelers boast is a no-brainer. Trade Greene if you can.

Mike Wallace – 60 minutes is the type of player I loathe to suggest sitting on any given week, he only needs one play to pick up 60 plus yards at anytime. However when superstars visit Revis island they historically have off-nights and we have no reason to believe that the theme will not be the same if Revis suits up this weekend. Once again however, only sit Wallace if you have decent contingency options, we are not suggesting you sit Wallace for say Leonard Hankerson, send us a tweet @fantasyfbandbb if you have a lineup specific question.

Laurent Robinson – We do not think there are too many owners outside the deepest leagues who will actually be in a position to be considering playing Robinson against Johnathan Joseph and the Texans but for those of you who are, don’t. We don’t trot out stats in the second week of the season because the sample size is too small, but the Texans secondary is elite, don’t bite on last years fools gold.
