Lions cornerback Darius Slay and Eagles safety Earl Wolff are inactive for Sunday's game between NFC North-leading Detroit and Philadelphia. Slay injured his knee in practice Thursday. The rookie had started three games this season, including the Lions' win over Green Bay on Thanksgiving Day because Chris Houston was injured. Houston is back in the lineup against the Eagles. Wolff, who replaced Patrick Chung as the starter midway through the year, misses his third straight game with a knee injury. Chung starts in his place. Backup linebacker Najee Goode (hamstring) is among Philadelphia's other inactives. --- AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org

Calvin Johnson looking more like Megatron with a face full of snow

It’s a snowy game in Philadelphia between the Eagles and the Lions. On a third-down conversion Calvin Johnson fell to the ground, a ground that is covered in a least a foot of snow, and slid face to ground. When he came up, you could see more snow than you could see Johnson through his face mask. Looks like Johnson also wants to look the part...

Detroit Lions-Philadelphia Eagles play in blizzard

The Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles are currently playing in a blizzard and it is a mess.  Reggie Bush was injured in warm ups when he slipped, Matt Stafford has fumbled two snaps, and neither team can move the ball.  Both of these high-powered offenses have been completely neutralized by the snow and is going to make for a boring and sloppy game.

Reggie Bush Unable To Start vs. Eagles

Lions halfback Reggie Bush slipped and aggravated his calf injury during warmups and wasn't able to start Sunday's game against Philadelphia.Fantasy Spin:Joique Bell was in the backfield for the Lions' first offensive series. There's been no definitive word from the team as to whether or not Bush will play, but given the snowy weather conditions there probably won...

LeSean McCoy Runs Wild in The Snow

LeSean McCoy set an Eagles record with 217 rushing yards Sunday in a 34-20 win over Detroit.Fantasy Spin:Roughly two thirds of his yardage came in the fourth quarter (148 yards). Jim Schwartz didn't know what to say to Nick Fairley, Ndamukong Suh after questionable calls

A penalty call is a teaching moment for Jim Schwartz, but the Detroit Lions coach didn't know what to say to defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley after a pair of questionable flags in the fourth quarter. The infractions, which have been panned by national broadcasters and columnists, played a big role in the Eagles game-tying drive early in the final quarter. On...

Top 5 Reasons The Detroit Lions Will Make The Playoffs

It used to be that the Detroit Lions would trot out Billy Sims or Barry Sanders and would take their licks as a middle of the pack team or an "also ran" in the NFC. Very rarely did they remain a competitive team and even when they did that, coaches like Wayne Fontes would bear the burden when they faltered. Now, the new look Lions are a pass-first team that relies on the...

Dashing Through the Snow

It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Philadelphia as the snow made for miserable conditions. The weather hindered the Eagles’ high octane offense predicated on speed and tempo. In a must-win game, LeSean McCoy rushed for 217 yards and 2 touchdowns setting a franchise record previously held by Steve Van Buren (205 yds). Shady single handedly carried them back from a...

Snow Bowl!

Eagles 34, Lions 20, Sunday, December 8, 2013 Five game winning streak! Can I get an “amen”? Stud of the week: LeSean McCoy. Duh. The previously (I believe) #3 ranked run defense in the NFL, anchored by Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley held him in check for more than 30 minutes. Unfortunately for them, the game had another half, and Shady RAN WILD. 217 rushing yards. 2 TDs....
