After a disappointing first two seasons with the New England Patriots, wide receiver Brandon Tate signed wit the Bengals on September 4 ,2011 and spent the entire season relegated to a backup WR and punt returner.
2012 appears to be a fresh start for Tate, a former star at the University of North Carolina, as he is currently listed as the number two receiver opposite of AJ Green. Jerome Simpson’s departure to Minnesota has opened the door for Tate to become another deep threat for Andy Dalton.
According to a report by Sports Illustrated’s Chris Burke, Tate has been a nice surprise for the Bengals this training camp. Burke writes: “Tate’s ascension up the depth chart isn’t so much a surprise as it is something worth taking note of (especially for you fantasy players out there). Green quickly established himself as a superstar during his rookie season, but Cincinnati has spent the past several months trying to find him a complementary piece. Tate appears to have the edge on guys like Armon Binns, Mohamed Sanu and others … at least for now”
We recommend targeting Tate in the final few rounds of fantasy drafts this fall, as he could be a nice sleeper WR in 12 team leagues.

Brandon Tate didn't catch a pass for the Cincinnati Bengals last season. He's got the early lead in the competition for the No. 2 receiving spot heading into the preseason opener.
Tate is listed first on the depth chart for a home game Friday against the New York Jets. It'll be the first chance for the Bengals' inexperienced receivers to start sorting themselves...
I’m excited like every other Bengal fan to see what our team can do. So here I sit, Friday night, kids in bed, watching my team live. What to do? I’m going to write one line of text every time I feel like it that explains how I feel about the game at that moment in time. Let’s see how it goes. Ready? Go!

Bengals left guard Travelle Wharton hurt his right knee on Cincinnati's third play of the game and left the field on a cart.
Wharton went down while pass blocking during the Bengals' first possession of a preseason game against the New York Jets. He rolled over in pain and stayed down for several minutes while trainers checked his knee.
He didn't put any weight on the...
Running back Bernard Scott (hand) is questionable for the Bengals' first preseason game.Fantasy Spin:Barring this turning into a long-term problem, it shouldn't effect his status as the No. 2 back behind BenJarvis Green-Ellis. In three seasons Scott has yet to run for more than 112 attempts in a year while Green-Ellis has averaged 205 carries the past two years in New England...
Left guard Travelle Wharton hurt his right knee during Cincinnati's opening series and left the field on a cart, the start of a series of injuries to Bengals starters.
Middle linebacker Rey Maualuga and defensive end Carlos Dunlap also left the field with injured right knees during the following series, costing the Bengals three of their starters in the opening 5 minutes of...
Cedric Benson will probably commit his next criminal action in Green Bay! So, congratulations to the residents and bar owners there. The veteran running back's best days are behind him but he will have a chance to outperform competition in Green Bay. This signing is reflective of the poor performance thus far in camp by incumbent starter James Starks. He has underwhelmed...

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, running back Cedric Benson is on the verge of signing with the Green Bay Packers.Fantasy Spin:It wouldn't be surprising if Benson (1,067 yards, six TDs for the Bengals last season) overtakes incumbent James Starks (578 yards, one TD in 2011) on the depth chart by the time the regular season gets underway in September.
