I hate to spend this whole week using Vikings Gab as a mere parrot for what Judd Zulgad is posting over at Access Vikings, but the truth is he is on the ground at the NFL meetings in New Orleans and is doing a fantastic job of keeping us all up-to-date with the news flowing out of there.

The latest tidbits provide those of you who might like to see the WilliamsWall stay intact with a little bit of hope.

First, Leslie Frazier said that he had a chat with Pat Williams regarding his comments to the media about his distrust of certain people within the Vikings organization.

“We had a good talk and I think we’re on the same page on some things,” Frazier said. “I love Pat, he’s been great for me, especially when I was in the coordinator’s role and he’s been great for our locker room. But you guys know Pat as well as I do. So… I love Pat.”

According to Zulgad, Frazier said that last part with a smile, indicating he is alluding to Pat’s willingness to speak his mind in a blunt manner.  Frazier also indicated that the door is not completely closed when it comes to Pat returning to the Vikings in 2011.

“No, that’s not where I’m at and I told him that,” Frazier responded to a question about him giving up hope for Pat’s return. “Let’s see how things go. He has some things he wants to achieve and we have some ideas about the direction we want to go as well and he knows what those directions are. Let’s see how it all plays out.”

Another interesting note is that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stated that he does not intend to suspend Kevin Williams, who has given up his right to further appeal the StarCaps case, at the beginning of next season.  Instead, the Commissioner will wait until the appeal put forth by Pat Williams, who still fully intends to fight the ruling, is settled.

“I think we’ll wait until the litigation is done before we make a decision,” said Goodell of a process that could once again be tied up in the courts for another full season.

So, it appears there is still a chance, albeit a small one, that both Pat and Kevin Williams line up together in week one.
