GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers insisted they didn't take the downtrodden Jacksonville Jaguars lightly. They also blew off any suggestion that a rash of injuries impacted a mundane performance Sunday. No matter the reason, the Packers struggled to put away the Jaguars, escaping with a 24-15 victory at Lambeau Field. "I don't really think it's something we need to talk about," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said of playing without eight starters, including dynamic receivers Jordy Nelson (hamstring) and Greg Jennings (groin). "I'm not disrespecting the people on the inactive list. Their preparation this week was cut short because of the stress we had at practice. I felt the team was ready to play coming out of Friday. I thought segments of our football team didn't come out with the energy or the focus. "I felt that we were on a little bit of a roller coaster there as far as certain segments or individuals. We have to get that removed...

Jordy Nelson Injury: Packers WR Unlikely to Play

The Green Bay Packers will already be without several high-profile players during today’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Peter King of Sports Illustrated reports wide receiver Jordy Nelson is also unlikely to suit up. Jordy Nelson (hamstring) is questionable, but SI's Peter King believes the wide receiver is unlikely to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars...

It’s Time To Unleash Starks

Running back James Starks has only six carries in the past three games While Alex Green has averaged a pathetic 2.4 yards per carry in the past three games, a now healthy James Starks has carried the ball a total of six times. And five of those six carries came in garbage time against Houston. People can blame the offensive line all they want, but I blame Mike McCarthy. There’s...

Man missing for memorable Packers play

GREEN BAY, Wis. It had been more than 20 years since the Packers blocked a punt for a touchdown prior to Sunday's game. Apparently, all it took to end that drought was having only 10 players on the field. In Green Bay's 25-14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the key play of the game came in the second quarter when cornerback Davon House sprinted off the left edge to block...

This picture of Donald Driver is pretty much perfect

I’m not a Green Bay Packers fan, but I’ve always respected the franchise. I’ve also always thought the Lambeau Leap was a fantastic tradition that connected the players on the team to the die-hard fans closest to the action on the field. On Sunday, Donald Driver – easily one of the most likable players in the entire NFL – scored a touchdown with 12:36 remaining in Green...

Jacksonville Jaguars at Green Bay Packers: Hero and Zero of Game

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost to the Green Bay Packers 24-15. The Jaguars went into the confines of Lambeau Field and emerged not victorious, but not demoralized either. The game still had its hero and zero. HeroDavon House and Dezmon Moses are the heroes of the game. While the Packers' offense is known for Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, James Jones, Donald Driver and Greg Jennings...

Jermichael Finley Calls Packers Win ‘Disappointing,’ Says Defense Is Mad When Green Bay Offense Flops

A win is a win -- unless it's in Green Bay. While most teams would be happy to thump a visiting team 24-15 and call it a week, the Packers' Jermichael Finley isn't so pleased with Green Bay's outing this Sunday (even though the 5-3 Packers need all the wins they can get after that -- ahem -- loss to Seattle). "It's not ugly. It's nasty...

Fantasy Football Injury Update: Packers Jordy Nelson Unlikely to play against Jacksonville

The Green Bay Packers will be hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon, but they will likely be without their leading receiver, Jordy Nelson. Nelson has not practiced this week while he is dealing with a hamstring injury. Reports suggest that Nelson will test his hamstring prior to game time, but is likely to go this afternoon. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports on Twitter...

Packers Win Third in Row, Edge Jaguars

The beat-up Packers struggled on offense without receivers Jordy Nelson and Greg Jennings. The defense, however, held firm in the second half.

Green Bay Holds Off Big Underdog Jacksonville for 3rd Straight Win

Coming into the game Jacksonville was a 15.5 point underdog but it came down to a 4th down Jacksonville failure that sealed the Green Bay 24-15 victory. With the score 21-15 and 2:59 on the clock Jacksonville faced 4th-and-4 at the Green Bay 44, after rookie Casey Hayward made a fantastic open field tackle on Justin Blackmon on the previous play forcing the 4th down. On a drive that...

Quick thoughts on the Jaguars' loss to the Packers

It's always rough to watch the Jaguars lose, but today's loss gave me reason to hope in an otherwise unbearable season. The Jaguars played well, but they were done in by their own mistakes. Last week, the Jaguars would have beat the Raiders comfortably had Blaine Gabbert remained in the game. This week, the Jaguars may have won against a quality opponent if not for a blocked...

MJD Ruled Out For Week 9

Running back Maurice Jones-Drew has already been ruled out for Week 9. Fantasy Spin: So the fantasy stock of Rashad Jennings will remain elevated while carrying the workload at running back for Jacksonville in MJDs absence.
