While the Chicago Bears gear up for training camp this summer, for one day in July, its home venue Solider Field will be filled with individuals watching and throwing tomatoes.
On July 27th, Solider Field will be host to “Tomato Blast,” a tomato throwing festival much like Spain’s annual event called La Tomatina. La Tomatina is held on the final Wednesday of August every year in the town of Buñol.
The cost is $24.99 if you want to watch, or if you want to get in on the action and start hurling tomatoes, you’ll have to throw down $49.99 first. Any additional info could be answered on the event’s website.
This will not be a waste of food, as all tomatoes being thrown are past ripe. If they run out of tomatoes during the event, which spans from noon to 6 p.m., organizers have back-up plans.
And what about the cleanup? No showers, but tomato throwers will be able to be hosed down.

Chicago Bears coach Marc Trestman in his second day running his first minicamp for the team, was impressed to see the lack of mental errors.
Most of the time when installing a new system, the mental side is the hardest part to get down.
If a player doesn’t have the understanding of what the concept is, then he won’t be able to react naturally and be effective.
Former Bears head coach Lovie Smith served as a guest analyst on ESPN and discussed his former team. View his comments below.

How many people here watch True Blood?
I admit, I’m a little embarrassed to say I watch the show. But it sure was entertaining when it started. And wow, did that show eventually go off the rails. I mean, I can buy that some random old vampire in a made up town called Bon Temps would fancy some girl named Sookie that can read minds. Heck, her name is Sookie...
