No Guts, No Glory:
The Redskins are 0-2 and in both games, Robert Griffin III played the same way: horribly in the 1st half only to recover in the 2nd half. Unfortunately, the Redskins have been unable to overcome Griffin III’s horrible play in the 1st half and that’s why they’re winless at the moment.
Normally when a quarterback is returning from major knee surgery like Griffin III, patience is the term used when talking about his performance. But with a capable Kirk Cousins standing on the sidelines in Washington, some Redskins fans don’t want to hear about patience. Instead, they want Kirk Cousins in the game and Robert Griffin III out of the game.
Dan Steinberg of DC Sports Bog chronicled how some fans reacted to Sunday’s loss by sending in text messages to Comcast SportsNet’s postgame show calling for Cousins to start.
One fan points out that Griffin III looks scared:
Another pleads for Cousin to start:
And finally one last questions why Griffin III is even out there.
My how things have change...
BEST OF MAXIM
There is no denying that Robert Griffin III hasn’t looked himself in the Redskins first two games despite putting up decent numbers. Receiver Pierre Garcon took it one step further telling ESPN 980 that there’s no way Griffin can be the same player as long as he’s wearing a knee brace. “Robert obviously can’t run [...]
Tweet The Washington Redskins are off to a disappointing 0-2 start to the 2013 season, for a number of reasons. Most mainstream sports media outlets are pointing the finger at quarterback Robert Griffin III, who is coming off of an ACL injury and hasn’t played quite like himself over the first two games of the […]
Over the first two week’s of the regular season it’s become obvious that Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III still isn’t the same player after undergoing offseason knee surgery. Pierre Garcon says Griffin isn’t as fast as he was last season. “Well, some of those runs weren’t designed runs for Robert,” Garcon said per the Washington Post. “One of the plays that...
In a moment of thought late in the Redskins 38-20 defeat to the Green Bay Packers, a unnamed teammate told Robert Griffin III that the quarterback may need to change and become a more vocal and outspoken leader in an attempt to spark better execution with the team. Since becoming a Washington Redskins player, Griffin [...]
Ron Jaworski is at it again.
On the heels of Robert Griffin III looking absolutely rusty in his return to action on Monday night, ESPN analyst and former Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski says RG3′s throwing mechanics are flawed because he’s still recovering from his injury.
Jaworski said it’s enough of a problem to be a cause for concern.
“His mechanics are flawed right now...
The Redskins lost to the Packers on Sunday, and looked pretty bad doing it. Led by quarterback Robert Griffin III, Washington failed to get on the scoreboard until almost eight minutes into the third quarter, were out-possessed by almost five full minutes and converted only three of 11 attempts on third down.
Don’t saddle Griffin with all the blame for the loss, though. Hall of...
When Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III stepped on the field for the first time since blowing out his knee in January he looked like a guy whose recovery is still a work in progress rather than a player who is all the way back.
That’s the word from former NFL quarterback Ron Jaworski who said on ESPN’s NFL Matchup that Griffin isn’t throwing the ball well because he’s...
During today’s press conference Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan told reporters that they’re not ready to go with Kirk Cousins as their starting quarterback.
Shanahan gets testy with reporter, says Cousins isn't an option: "We have a lot of confidence in Robert."

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is still trying to shake off the rust in the wake of his second major knee surgery. Through the first two weeks of the season, he has been horrible. Thanks to RG3′s shaky play and an incredibly porous defense, the Redskins are 0-2. Wide receiver Pierre Garcon has found […]
A quarterback known mostly for his mobility sat back and picked apart the Green Bay Packers' defense through the air last week, leaving half of the team's defensive game plan in ruins.
Not much went according to plan for Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins in their opener either, mainly due to their once-dynamic running game being held in check.
Green Bay faces...
Someone actually asked Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan whether or not the team was considering the idea of benching quarterback Robert Griffin III.
Griffin has struggled to start the season and the Redskins have fallen to 0-2. Additionally a lot of the Redskins struggles can be traced back to a defense which has been torched in the first half for two consecutive...
Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan claims that the only reason they’ve run only five read-option plays during the first two weeks of the regular season is because they fell behind so quickly against both the Eagles and Packers.
“We have the ability to do everything we’ve done a year ago,” Shanahan said, via ESPN.com. “In the second half of our first two games...
Fans of the Green Bay Packers have had the last week to wail and nash our collective teeth over the loss (again...third in a row) to the San Francisco 49ers. It's another week, another game, and another read-option quarterback who may -- or may not -- give the Packers defense trouble. In the season home opener at Lambeau Field today, the Packers will see if they can keep QB Robert...
