TEAMS: Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Going into Sunday’s game at Tampa Bay, there were two things I wanted to see out of the Eagles. First and foremost was improvement out of Nick Foles. The second was improvement from the defense. Win or lose, I didn’t care too much as long as I saw those things.
Let’s start with Foles. Week by week, he is making positive strides. With the announcement that Michael Vick has been shelfed for the year, Foles knew that this was his tryout for the starting position in 2013.
Foles has grabbed the bull by the horns and has clearly improved in every game he has started. He hasn’t been stunning, but he has made some serious improvements for a rookie playing behind a makeshift line. With three games left, it’s important that he continues to make improvements and show that he can be the guy next year. If he can make the front office have confidence in him, it will make the offseason a whole lot easier. If he tanks the last three games, there will be a lot of doubt surrounding the start...

Nick Foles is Impressing, But a Tough Test Looms Against the Bengals

Philadelphia Eagles rookie QB Nick Foles is certainly impressing everyone from fans, to teammates, to coaches. He looked like a poised veteran when he threw the game-winning touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin as time expired.
Wait, did I say “game-winning?” As in, the Eagles won? Wholly crap, that’s right, they did! For the first time since September...

Maybe it's the fluttering downfield passes which should have been intercepted... maybe it's the zoned-out expression on his face...maybe it's the inevitable historic references to Mike Boryla and Bobby Hoying, Eagles rookie QB's of the past who had brief encounters with initial success, then flamed out...

Eagles receiver Jason Avant has incredible one-handed catch (Video)
Philadelphia Eagles receiver Jason Avant had an absolutely incredible one-handed catch during the second quarter of Sunday's NFL game at Raymond James Stadium against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In his fourth start of his career, Nick Foles made a strong case to be the Eagles’ starting quarterback in 2013.

Foles Should Seek Out Tom Brady
Tom Brady should be Foles model
The NFL is all about throwing the football and Eagles head coach, Andy Reid is their leading ambassador. With this being a quarterback-driven league, a team needs one who is a smart, decisive, leader of men. The Eagles may have one in Nick Foles, but after watching Monday night’s Patriots blowout over the Texans, Tom Brady is who Foles should aspire...
Nick Foles Stakes Claim as Eagles’ Quarterback of the Future With Epic Late-Game Comeback
This season has become something of a nightmare for Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles. But they may have finally found a silver lining.
With so many key pieces already in place and a full year of coexistence behind them, the Eagles’ expectations were sky high. But the results have been anything but.
With a 4-9 record and no hopes at a playoff berth for a second straight season...
Bucs focus on executing after difficult loss
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- The fading Tampa Bay Buccaneers talk about needing to make more plays.
Coach Greg Schiano just wants them to concentrate on doing their jobs.

Nick Foles and fantasy subterfuge
Did you watch the Philly-Tampa Bay game today? It was a rough game to watch if you were an Eagles fan. Hell, it was just a rough game to watch. The magic that running back Bryce Brown had been weaving in the previous two weeks just wasn’t in the cards against a Bucs defense that [...]
Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Profile: Mike McCoy
Today I was planning on breaking down Oregon’s Chip Kelly as a candidate to be the next head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. Then I watched Nick Foles on tape against Tampa Bay and I had to mention somebody else first. Denver’s offensive coordinator Mike McCoy might be the ideal head coach for the Foles and the Eagles.
