Here are a few nuggets of information filtering through the inter-google on cut-down day that may be of interest:
Joe Reedy of Cincinnati.com says that WR’s Matt Jones and Dez Briscoe have been informed that they didn’t make the team. I’m a bit surprised about Briscoe. I thought the team could keep in over Andre Caldwell.
Then again, Caldwell doesn’t sound too confindent in his recent tweet. “Up early on my day off thanking cause god is good all the time and I’m so thankful for the the obstacle and blessing in my life.” Hmmm…
Now consider this: TJ Houshmandzadeh, who is on the outs in Seattle, has expressed interest in two teams: Minnesota and the Bengals. At his best, he’s a slot receiver–same position that Caldwell plays. Big “C” at the Dayton Daily News quotes TJ as saying, “I miss it (in Cincinnati). The grass ain’t always greener. Let me tell you that.”
He also claims he’s been keeping in touch with Marvin Lewis and they have “a nice little dialogue” going.
There are also reports that, as expected, Mike Nugent won the kicking job.
Unfortunately for us, Moonlight Graham won’t be shanking any for the Ravens. Billy Cundiff beat him out.
Former Bengals center Eric Guiaciuc was cut by the Patriots.
