He's set to become a free agent at the conclusion of this season, and Steelers receiver Mike Wallace is coming to the realization that he may be wearing a diffrent uniform next season. If so, he already played his last game as a Steeler. He's out Sunday with a hamstring issue. “I definitely don‘t want to go out like that,” he said, via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “I really want to end on a high note. I‘ve got big plans no matter the situation. I have big plans for myself and my family. Hopefully everything will go in a positive manner.” Wallace was famously caught up in a high drama contract dispute, holding out for the majority of training camp and reporting on August 28th. Now the question is, do the Steelers think he is worth holding onto? They could apply the franchise tag on him, but it will cost them more than $10 million. Wallace this season had 64 receptions for 836 yards with 8 TDs. “It‘s the team I‘ve been on my whole career,” said Wallace. “I don‘t know anything else, so I love playing here." “Obviously this season didn‘t go where I wanted it to go. I‘m happy with the start of my career, and I feel like I‘m on the path to doing some great things.” var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
