Here are some random thoughts for you on the Houston Texans.
- As much flack as Connor Barwin has taken for his lack of production, it feels like defensive end Antonio Smith has gotten a free pass from the critics. Despite having two sacks and a forced fumble in 2012, Smith has been very quite and less disruptive than last season. Now Smith has been on the injury report the past few weeks with an ankle/foot issue that limits him in practice. Gary Kubiak said in his press conference this week that Smith was dealing with other issues too, but did not go into detail. It is really tough to tell what the issues are with Smith’s game, but there is reason for concern.
- With Johnathan Joseph’s groin issue, wouldn’t it be wise for the Texans to rest him and give him two weeks of rest with the bye week after the Baltimore Ravens game? If the effort we have seen the past two weeks is what the defense is going to get from Joseph, it would be better to let healthy Brice McCain or Alan Ball pl...

The Houston Texans brought back tight end Logan Brock to the practice squad to fill a void that was left by rookie tight end Phillip Supernaw who was injured in practice this week. Supernaw beat out Logan for an invite back to the practice squad after cuts were made after the final preseason game.
Brock is a 6-3 and 248 lbs. and he was signed before camp out of TCU, where he...
According to the Houston Texans, rookie defensive end David Hunter will be out for the season with a torn ligament in his foot. Hunter was called up this week from the practice squad to take the place of recently injured Tim Jamison (achilles) who was also lost for the season.
Hunter has said the injury will keep him sidelined close to three months. No decision has been made...
Word out of Baltimore Ravens’ camp this week is that reigning defensive player of the year Terrell Suggs is set to play this Sunday on the road against the Houston Texans. Suggs, who suffered an Achilles injury back in April, was activated off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list this week and practiced Wednesday for the first time. Despite the incredibly short timetable...
The Texans were an outstanding team last year and were headed to a deep playoff run, until their QB was injured. This season, the Texans are picking up where they left off. Shaub is playing well and Foster continues to produce. However, the strength of this team is their defense.
Before the season started I predicted each teams record, the playoff picture and Superbowl.
In Gary Kubiak's seventh season as Houston's coach, the Texans have become more of a running team than a passing team. One reason the Texans are 5-1 entering Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens at Reliant Stadium is because they continue to lead the NFL in average time of possession at 34 minutes and 54 seconds. They've ranked first or second in that statistic...
The 5-1 Baltimore Ravens will roll into Reliant Stadium this Sunday to battle the 5-1 Houston Texans. These two teams are the only teams with winning records in the entire AFC. The Ravens lead the all time head to head series 6-0. As a Texans’ fan, this year feels different and may be the first legitimate shot at defeating the Ravens. On paper, the advantage goes to the...

The Ravens and Texans both stand alone atop the AFC standings with 5-1 records. Baltimore is coming off a 31-29 victory over the Cowboys last week while the Texans are coming off their first loss...
The 5-1 Baltimore Ravens will take on the 5-1 Houston Texans on Sunday at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, in a rematch from last year's AFC Divisional playoff game that the Ravens won by a score of 20-13.The Ravens are coming off a 31-29 victory over the Dallas Cowboys last week, in which quarterback Joe Flacco threw for 234 yards and one touchdown. Running back Ray Rice rushed...
Baltimore Ravens (5-1) at Houston Texans (5-1)
This is a very interesting game for a number of reasons. The most obvious is Baltimore’s injuries. This line was at -4 a week ago, but because of Baltimore’s injuries, it’s shifted 3 points, even though Baltimore won and Houston got blown out at home. In spite of that, we still are getting a slight public lean on Houston. Houston...
On Sunday Morning, the two premier teams in the AFC will battle to determine who wins their 6th game, and who drops to 5-2. While the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens are surprisingly the only teams in the AFC with winning records, this is hardly the matchup NFL Fans were salivating at last week (three key Baltimore Ravens defenders were injured in their close victory over...
