The rumor is true as Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Sean Kugler is indeed leaving to become the head coach at UTEP, but a source informed this morning that his plans are to finish out the season in Pittsburgh and has told his players as such. Footballscoop.com reported late Friday that Kugler will be the next head coach of UTEP after Pete Roussel, the Founder/CEO of Coaching Search Consulting Inc., reported that Kugler had interviewed for the open head coaching job at his Alma Mater and was the frontrunner for the job. The catches are down and the drops are up this season for Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace and on Thursday the frustration that has building for the last several weeks resulted in his admission that he has been losing focus in games that he is not involved in early on. “I’ve never been a guy who dropped balls or just lose focus,” Wallace said, via a report...

Healthier James Harrison Looks To Extend Sack Streak To Four Games Against Chargers

Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison might not ever be 100% healthy this season, but 13 weeks now into the 2012 season he his certainly playing like he is close. In the last 3 games Harrison has totaled 3 sacks and 24 tackles, which is nearly half of the tackles that he has been credited with all season. Defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau was asked on Thursday if...

Tomlin Says He Didn’t Go For Two Points Because He Wanted To Keep Plays In His Pocket

The Pittsburgh Steelers chances of overcoming a 24 point deficit Sunday in their loss to the San Diego Chargers were slim, but head coach Mike Tomlin didn't help matters when he chose not to go for two point conversions after third and fourth quarter touchdowns, which if converted, would have made it a two possession game in both instances. Tomlin was asked about the decision...

Mike Wallace: I lose focus sometimes, it’s tough to stay positive

Mike Wallace has had an up-and-down season with the Pittsburgh Steelers this year that has largely been a disappointment. Fresh off an offseason where he held out and missed much of training camp, the fourth-year receiver has been unable to establish any type of consistency. The problem, he says, is his inability to remain focused when the offense isn’t getting him the ball. ...

Is there really bad blood between Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh after-all, and was the terse meeting at midfield following the Steelers 23-20 win last Sunday fueled by comments made by Harbaugh in the Ravens locker room following the their win over the Steelers just two weeks earlier? Pittsburgh Steelers Suffer Alarming 34-24 Loss to San Diego Chargers

The standings say the Pittsburgh Steelers are 7-6, but let’s do some football sabermetrics and create a new stat. In addition to the “W” column and the “L” column, there should be a “WTFL” column in the standings.  The Steelers would have a “4” in that column, because in today’s texting vernacular, Sunday’s 34-24 loss to the San Diego Chargers was their fourth...
