The Packers and inside linebacker Brandon Chillar have agreed to a contract extension, an NFL source confirmed this morning.Chillar was making $1.35 million in the last of a two-year deal he signed in March 2008. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the new contract is for four years and $21 million, with $7 million guaranteed.It was unclear whether Chillar had signed the deal, though that likely is a formality. He's one of a small group of players who could become unrestricted free agents regardless of the collective-bargaining situation -- a list that also includes linebacker Aaron Kampman, nose tackle Ryan Pickett and tackles Chad Clifton and Mark Tauscher.This doesn't necessarily mean anything for the future of linebacker A.J. Hawk, who has played well recently as his snaps have increased.
