Many fans have been waiting for the Eagles to make an announcement on whether or not Juan Castillo will return as defensive coordinator- and according to recent quotes from ex-St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo, they could be waiting a bit longer.

People close to the situation expect the Eagles to be in play for Spagnuolo, something that Spagnuolo would neither confirm nor deny in a recent interview with the St. Louis Post Dispatch. The former Eagles linebacker coach did say that teams have been calling, but said that he had a request of his own for them.

" I am very blessed in this way- the phone has been ringing," said Spagnuolo. "There has been contact, but I have asked that everyone respect the fact that I need some time to figure out what I want to do next, and so far, everyone has."

If the Eagles are one of those teams, Spagnuolo's statement means that any potential change at defensive coordinator is not happening in the near future.

Will the Eagles wait around for Spagnuolo to make a decision? If they really want him they will, but waiting for Spagnuolo also makes Castillo a dead man walking at the NovaCare Complex, something that Andy Reid likely would not let happen to one of his most loyal employees.

Still, reading between the lines of Spagnuolo's statements, it appears the Eagles did at least call.

Now fans just have to wait and see if that call turns into something more.
