Found September 19, 2012 on Gridiron Grit:
Steven Jackson was excused from their recent victory over the Redskins due a “sore groin” although it certainly looked as if he was benched due to getting flagged for spiking the ball after what appeared to be a touchdown. They did not rule it a touchdown and the Rams were fortunate to get a call in their favor after Cortland Finnegan baited Josh Morgan into throwing the ball at him. The throw cost them 15 yards and turned a 47-yard field goal into a 62-yarder that did not even come close. Death threats were sadly followed to Morgan, and it just goes to show you how many people cross that line between sports and real life. We are just heading into the third week of the NFL season and this is a sport in which so much can change in the drop of a cap. Jackson is expected to be just fine for the game, but a stout Chicago Bears defense that held Aaron Rodgers in check should be able to obliterate Sam Bradford and his poor offensive line. Bradford found Danny Amendola early and often in t...

Jackson sits out practice, day to day

Steven Jackson's status is day to day after the nine-year veteran sat out his second consecutive practice Thursday with a groin injury. The same problem forced him to miss most of St. Louis' 31-28 victory over Washington on Sunday and he is a game-time decision for Sunday's game at Chicago. ''I've played with worse injuries before,'' Jackson said...

Steven Jackson had a clever comeback to Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III's complaints that the Rams were engaging in "extracurricular stuff."

Steven Jackson To RG3: This Isn’t The Big 12 - We told you on Thursday that Robert Griffin III was not a fan of the “dirty extracurriculars” and the “unprofessional” late hits from the St. Louis Rams in Week 2. “It was weird,” the Washington Redskins quarterback said. “… People want to hit me because they don’t think I can take a hit.” On Thursday, Rams RB Steven...

Steven Jackson is questionable, will be a game-time decision

The St. Louis Rams announced that running back Steven Jackson has been listed as questionable for Sunday’s game and will likely be a game-time decision. I would think that Daryl Richardson will find himself getting a good amount of carries once again this week.

Steven Jackson misses practice again

For the second straight day, St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson didn’t practice because of a groin injury.  He could end up being a game time decision on Sunday. If Jackson can’t go, we might see Daryl Richardson step in and get significant time like he did last week.

Steven Jackson tells Robert Griffin III the NFL is not the Big 12

Washington Redsksins quarterback Robert Griffin III complained about the Rams playing dirty and hitting him late during last Sunday’s game. “It was weird,” Griffin said. “People want to hit me because they don’t think I can take a hit.” On Thursday, Rams running back Steven Jackson responded to Griffin. “It’s not the Big 12,” Jackson said. “I don’t think we’re...

Rams go Bear hunting as cities collide in Week 3

The St. Louis Rams stroll into the Windy City this Sunday to face a Chicago Bears team led by Head Coach Lovie Smith, the beloved ex-defensive coordinator of the 2001 hay day St. Louis Rams.  Though the St. Louis faithful remember Lovie Smith, there is a distain between these two cities that extends from both baseball and hockey rivals.  This further extends to football, and should...

Know Your Enemy St. Louis Rams vs. Chicago Bears

RAMS vs. BEARS (Sun Sept 23 1 PM ET) The Rams are coming off a solid win over the Redskins and while their defense did not look very good and Steven Jackson struggled Sam Bradford passed for over 300 yards. The Bears look to bounce back after their embarrassing last loss to Green Bay where Jay Cutler threw 4 INT and he was sacked 7 times. There is a good chance he will rebound...
