St. Louis Rams: Most Pressing Off-season Needs

1. Hire General Manager
After the regular season ended the Rams fired General Manager Billy Devaney. They've been in search of a new GM ever since. With the NFL Draft a little over two and a half months away followed by free agency, the sooner the Rams hire a GM the better. Who should they pick? I'm just a fan but I'm personally in favor of Ryan Snead.

2. Hire a QB coach for Bradford
Sam Bradford is going into his third season in the NFL. It's hard to believe it's been that long already. It's even harder to believe that Bradford has never had a quarterback coach. The majority of the fans want a quarterback coach for Sam and with that high salary he's getting he should get a quarterback coach. Jeff Fisher has recently hired his son Brandon who still doesn't have an official position with the team. He'd be a great candidate for the quarterback coach. Even if it's not Brandon Fisher,  BRADFORD NEEDS A QB COACH!!

 3. Settle the Stadium/Location Issue
Most of the 2011 season was filled with rumors that the Rams are moving back to LA. This is mainly due to the fact that the stadium lease is almost up. Kronke does have the option to move the team back to LA if he so chooses. The Rams have also been offered $200,000 to make upgrades to Edward Jones Dome. Kronke also has the option to accept that offer or reject it and use his own money to renovate the stadium or even rebuild it. The sooner this issue is resolved, the sooner fans can stop wondering and focus their attention on more important issues.

4. Fix the Offensive Line
This is mainly a job for new offensive coach Brian Schottenheimer and mainly involves the wide receivers. Overall the receivers were terrible last year and have a lot of work to do with Schottenheimer. The good news is that with no lockout they'll have the whole preseason to practice. Fixing the Rams’ offensive line will also involve drafting and adding players through free agency and trades.

5. ROSTER CUTS
There are certain players on the team that need to be cut, including Mark Clayton, A.J. Feely, at least one or two running backs (not Jackson of course), and whoever else the organization feels needs to be let go. With the players who aren't helping the team cut, there will be room on the roster for some playmakers.

6. GET SOME VETERANS ON THE TEAM VIA FREE AGENCY/TRADE
Any great football team has a nice combination of rookies and veterans. The Rams barely have a handful of veterans on the team and it really showed through the 2011 season. The Rams can draft a receiver, tackle, offensive lineman, and cornerback to really get the team going.

7. STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH
The Rams don't have a strength and conditioning coach on staff. The IR team was better than the starting team last year, proving that the starting team is in need of strength and conditioning.

8. ADVERTISING/MARKETING NEEDS
The Rams have had problems filling seats in the Edward Jones Dome for the last few years. This is an issue that needs to be addressed so the Rams can pack their stadium. One move may be to get Sam Bradford on twitter, another move can be special prizes and promotions, another move may be to have more fan appreciation days, and another move may be to have some meet-the-players opportunity where ticket holders can take pictures with players and get some autographs.

9. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!
The Rams won't get any better without practice. The Rams also need practice in order to get used to their new coaches. The more practice the Rams can get, the better. This includes personal individual practice time as well. The Rams need to fully utilize all their personal and team practice time this offseason.
