The St. Louis Rams put up a hard fight during the season opener to the Lions. The game even started off with a field goal kick by the rookie Greg Zurelein who had a total of three field goals. During the second quarter corner back Cortland Finnegan intercepted Matthew Stafford for a touchdown taking the Rams to halftime with a one point lead.Roger Saffold was injured during the fourth quarter causing the momentum to shift to the Lions. Tests still have to be done on Saffold, but it looks likely that he'll return in the near future. The good news is that Saffold was the only injury for the Rams. The Rams are usually injury plagued and actually had a few injuries during the opening game last season.Zurelein kicked a 46 yard field goal with 1:55 left in the game giving the Rams a 23-20 point lead. However, with ten seconds left in the game Matthew Stafford scored a touchdown giving the lions a 27-23 point win. As in previous seasons, the Rams need to learn how to score touchdowns i...

Detroit Lions sneak past Rams

Despite quarterback Matthew Stafford having one of his worst career games, the Detroit Lions were able to escape week one with a 27-23 victory. St. Louis kicked the go-ahead field goal just inside the two-minute warning, but Stafford and the Lions drove down the field and regained the lead when Kevin Smith took a Stafford pass to pay dirt with just 10 seconds left. After throwing...

Matthew Stafford looks dapper in Van Heusen ad

The self-admitted “casual dresser” now has a reason to clean up on occasion – a company is going to pay him to do it.  Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has agreed to appear in a marketing campaign entitled “Institute of Style” for Van Heusen.  The campaign will be featured in print, television, POP and digital advertisements and will soon be found on the NFL Network...

Juan Eye On: Matt Stafford

I hope you don’t have a GIF of my flying fist pump Juan… Matt Stafford was my #1 ranked QB this week.  Talk about a swing and a miss.  Stafford waited 59:50 to throw his first TD pass and although it was game winner for the Lions, it was a disaster of a day for his fantasy owners.  He thew 3 INTs that looked like a rookie would have thrown.  He came close to throwing 4 plus...

Will RG3 expose the Rams defense or get exposed?

Associated Press Last week when the Saint Louis Rams played the Detroit Lions and Matthew Stafford, the Rams looked like they were getting the best out of the Lions.  Stafford was picked off 3 times by the Rams secondary but the Rams just could not finish the game.  Could RG3 have just as big of a game, or get exposed by both Corteland Finnegan and rookie Janoris Jenkins who both...

Jeff Fisher coached St. Louis Rams show us the true Matthew Stafford

For Matthew Stafford, season one brought 10 games of garbage, season two had him on the sidelines after the Cleveland Browns slapped him around, season three had him looking elite and Sunday had him looking like season one all over again, like GARBAGE. In Jeff Fisher‘s debut as the head coach of the St. Louis Rams, we got to see a St. Louis Rams team that looked like actual contenders...

NFL's First Female Referee Breaks Up Fake Fight Between Cortland Finnegan, Stephen Tulloch (Photo)

The NFL and NFL Referees Association have still not come to terms on a deal. But luckily for coaches, players and fans everywhere, there are replacements roaming the sidelines to keep things in order. After the final whistle blew at Ford Field on Sunday, Rams guard Harvey Dahl and Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh got caught up in a bit of a shoving match. The tussle was quickly...

With Leather’s Watch This: Oh Sweet Irony!

Watching Detroit Lions quarterback Matt Stafford poop the bed against the St. Louis Rams yesterday was rather bothersome for me, as I spent a quarter of my auction league cash on his three-pick-throwing ass a week ago. But then I remembered the above commercial for Monday Night Football and the irony tickled me enough to make me forget that he almost cost me my suicide pick, too...

Attention NFL...It's a new Defense in St. Louis

Beware, adjective overload to follow shortly. The St. Louis Rams played one of their most inspired, passionate, hard-nosed games fans have seen in a while in Motown this past Sunday. The final two minutes not withstanding. However, the defense of the St. Louis Rams made a statement that should not be ignored .  The defense was in midseason form against Detroit. This...

Lions' Calvin Johnson misses practice

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson did not practice on Wednesday because of a foot injury, according to the team. Head coach Jim Schwartz wouldn't say much on the injury. The injury doesn't sound serious, according to team reporter Tim Twentyman, who says Megatron appeared to be fine. "Let's put it this way. I didn't notice anything," he tweeted...

It wasn't a pretty start for the NFC North in week 1 with a loss from last year's Division winner, three picks from Matt Stafford and the Lions an overtime win for the Vikings against the lowly Jaguars and a rough start, but eventual victory for the Bears. Let's take a look at what to expect in week 2 from the black and blue division. The Bears and Packers face off on...
