According to multiple reports former Houston Cougar, Oakland Raider and Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Stanford Routt is scheduled to workout for the Houston Texans on Tuesday.   Texans are working out former Oakland and KC CC Stanford Routt on Tuesday. — John McClain (@McClain_on_NFL) December 4, 2012   With starting nickel cornerback Brice McCain out six weeks with a broke foot that required surgery, the Texans are on the market to add secondary depth. The Texans are currently with three healthy cornerbacks in Kareem Jackson, Roc Carmichael and Brandon Harris, while Johnathan Joseph (groin) and Alan Ball (foot) are nursing injuries. Routt was cut on November 9th by the Kansas City Chiefs after signing with them this past off-season after signing a deal that gave him a $4.2 million signing bonus. A starter in Oakland for two seasons, Routt was having a tough time getting to know the Chiefs defense. He is 6-1 and 195 lbs. and has been in the NFL since 2005 when he was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the second round (38th overall) in the 2005 NFL draft. Routt has 258 career tackles with 12 interceptions and 54 pass deflections in 117 games with the Raiders and Chiefs. He is a native of Austin, Texas.
