Cowboys starting strong safety Gerald Sensabaugh said Wednesday that he plans to play next week against Atlanta after the team's bye week. Sensabaugh broke his right thumb two weeks ago at Denver and missed Sunday's win over Kansas City. Sensabaugh suffered the same injury in college, had a plate inserted into his thumb area and then only missed one game before returning to play. Sensabaugh had surgery Oct. 5 on his right thumb, the day after the loss to Denver. This time, however, doctors removed the plate and fixed the injury with two screws and some pins, he said. Sensabaugh said that this break in his right thumb was a little behind (about an inch or two) the first break (in other words, higher, and more toward his wrist than the tip of his thumb). He was walking around the locker room today wearing a brace.
