It's very quiet in Falcon land as the draft is over and the next big thing on the agenda is signing the draft picks and getting an extension done for Matt Ryan. Signing the draft picks will probably have to wait until Tyson Clabo's numbers come off the books in June. There is also talk of adding another veteran around that time as well. ESPN's Pat Yaskinskas says Richard Seymour is a possibility. We explored that earlier this off-season and definitely wouldn't be against it. While we wait for something to happen, we thought it would be a good time to go through each position and see if the Falcons have improved this off-season through free agency and through the draft. Changes can still be made, veterans signed, injuries can happen and youngsters can emerge but let's take stock of where we are right now. First up is the offensive line. 2012 Starters 2013 Projected Line-Up LT Sam Baker LT Sam Baker LG Justin Blalock LG Justin Blalock C Todd McClure C Peter Konz RG Peter Konz RG Garrett Reynolds RT Tyson Clabo RT Lamar Holmes/Mike Johnson When I polled Mike and Matt they came back with the answer that the Falcons were somewhere between slight worse to significantly worse at this position. For me, I agree that we definitely appear worse and the big reason is the question mark at right tackle. We go from a solid RT in Tyson Clabo to a big mystery as we don't know if it's Mike Johnson or Lamar Holmes who will win the battle. Our concern isn't necessarily talent, it's experience. We lose veteran center Todd McClure. He was at the end of the line last year but his leadership was very important. How quickly can Konz step in and get comfortable after spending last year as a guard?  I'm comfortable with Konz at center and Reynolds at guard provided he can stay healthy. Another question-mark is Sam Baker. Baker silenced a lot of critics last year, including us, but can he do it in back to back seasons. Justin Blalock returns but needs to improve his consistency. The Falcons have the weapons at the skills positions to win a Super Bowl but will the offensive line allow it? There is a lot of work to be done by Pat Hill this off-season to get the OL where it will need to be throughout the season.
